DOOODE - WTF...you ran airplane fuel in your ENGINE?? Who told you it was AACEPTABLE in any way shape or form to run airplane fuel in your engine??? WTF are you doing with that truck man. That's not a cheap toy...it's an expensive hobby. The good thing for you is Traxxas has a good warranty. You might be able to get a low cost or now cost replacement or re-build depending on how good of a liar you are..lol. I've delt with Traxxas for various warranty issues of the years and their service is excellent. HPI's warranty service is also excellent but you can't bullchit them...lol.

You have ALLOT of reading to do before you spend ANY more money in this hobby bro. NOthing wrong with that as we all have to start somewhere.

If you saw his videos, you wouldn't worry about him using aircraft fuel in his engine. No way the engine got anywhere near an operating condition where that fuel would harm it.
:D

I'm pretty sure the Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec manual says that you can run Morgan's Omega 15% in the Pro .15 engine.

But, that's comming from Traxxas, so....

Byrons ='s not Omega. two totally different fuels. Byrons is LOADED with castor, and aircraft fuel lacks additives that car engines need. Fuel isn't just oil, nitro and methyl alcohol. There's detonators, oil stabilizers, and a ton of other things that make a difference.

If you'd have said Omega 10%, I'd have said cool.

I have run aircraft fuel through my .15 engines in small quantities when nothing else was available. Though not recommended (or as 30% implied not acceptable) by some, it does work okay. A little post run lube treatment a la ARO keeps things nice and happy. Besides, the TRX Pro .15 isn't exactly at the top of the performance charts.

Well crap, and I was thinking my 4-Tec was race competative.

Sorry, to burst your bubble.

I just did a search on tower hobbies and looked up airplane fuel and under 25% came up with tower power fuel. I never buy tower products per say but it all has to come from the same place. Click the link for the product description. It says for both.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJC58&P=0

I have heard of guys running 25% airplane fuel because it has a good oil content and can sustain a nitro engine. I don't know anything about the 10% that got_nitro used.

Well,

My biggest thought on the subject is WTF would you want to run airplane fuel and possibly damage or substantially shorten the life of your engine when their's a CHITLOAD of proper fuels on the market. To save a couple bucks?? Hell....Traxxas top fuel is down to $20 a gallon @ many LHS's around here. It works great assuming you don't mind suporting TraxxASS...lol. You can get killer O'Donnell fuel in various blends for like $24-27 a gallon.

Got_Nitro....It sounds like you have ALLOT to learn in the hobby. Nothing wrong with that but try to do it without costing yourself and/or your parents allot of money. The economy sucks right now..lol.

FYI.....I know guys that have run Airplanes fuel in OS .15 buggy engines but it wasn't always pretty.

Peace

I'll save you the pain of his answering this question for the bazillionth time...

And the nearest shop that sold any was an hour away. The nearest guy who had some airplanes was 10 min away and gave us half a gallon for free. All I was thinking at that time was Nitro....free.....YA!! The guy said to get the fuel outta the tank right away and put the Top Fuel in.

Ok, Sky was who the F**k told me it was all right.

Just in case anyone missed this one - Got_nitro actually said that Sky was the one who told him it was okay......sure......

I did tell him it would be okay to run the 10% fuel in his car. I'm fairly certain of that. I do not recall him mentioning airplane fuel until just within the confines of his fuel thread.

So, I guess I did tell him it was okay? But within his fuel thread I was pretty clear on what you can and can not do with respect to fuel. AND I know my recommendation was to change back to the car fuel.

Guess it is all perspective dependent...
