Hey everyone, Its been awhile since i have posted.

WEEEElll, Since I was a crazy ass and jumped my car and broke everything almost a year ago (haha) at the hampton roads bash, (pics in my gallery) i've had alot of problems with my mugen mbx4 xr, Well I was finally fed up with it just sitting next to my computer desk for almost a year so i went and got a couple new glo plugs, and some connecters for my starter box. (gel cell connecters were bigger).

I charged everything overnight, and in the morning my buggy has no power, the radio turns on but nothing happens. So i pop open the receiver case and see if anything is unplugged/cut, No winners. Could this be a bad reciever pack from sitting so long with a little bit of charge in it? Its a Venom NIMH stick pack....... That adds another thing to add onto the list. I'm beginning to think, It doesn't want to run again!!

Also, I go outside and try to start it. Just to hear the thing run, and it starts at times. But will not stay running, It starts then dies. So I toggle with the lsn and idle, still no response, what do you think i should do? Also what are the factory settings for the hyper 8 port so i can get it to be in a fair tuning range.

Thanks alot, any help would be greatly appricated!

-Colton

Hyper 8-port:
HSN: 4 turns out
LSN: 3 turns from flush
MID: No turns

That's for the p/s version, idk if it's different for the race version.

Welcome home Colton. I am actually getting aN mbx4 rr. I am hoping it will be a good buggy. It needs love but it will be a learning experieinces

Good to see ya Jon!

Yeah, They it will need some TLC. the x4 itself has some kinks i had to work out to get running when i first got it.

Buggyracer- Opps?

Thanks Cvec.

I just set my hyper to the no turn setting for the mid needle and it would not run at all, I reset it back to near flush and it ran fine. So for settings on the mid needle, you're better off at flush settings.

Skyline Racer, how bad was your crash? Did the head hit the pavement? Or did the chasis bend? Either can cause your engine to run poorly or not at all. I'd also look for air leaks around the hoses and the tank. I crashed my buggy and bent my chasis just the smallest amount, but it was enough to mess up the mesh and kill the motor when I'd give it some gas. I don't jump on pavement anymore.

Has the fuel been sitting from last year, and how old was it before the bash in VA?

You might need some new fuel.

Clean the airfilter too.

Did you leave fuel in it from the bash? (in the buggy itself)

You might have left over fuel gumming up your carb.

DXM2- I Did three jumps, They were about 20-25ft high jumps, and about 20 feet long. The first time I did a nose dive into the pavement, I'm not sure about the gear mesh being out of wack.

Ratzo- Yeah, I had alot of old fuel in it, But I put new fuel into it after i dumped the old out before i started it, I even put a few drops in the carb opening. Still nothing

Also, I thought about the airfilter, But I didnt feel like cleaning it so I took it off to see if it would run, And no it didnt.

What do you guys think I should do?

Give it to me :D

Is your glow plug good? Glow heater good?

your needles might be way out of whack too.

Yeah, New plug, And the heater i got plugs into my power panel on my starter box. And it had all 3 light levels meaning its fully charged.

The manual says

Master needle - 4 turns out
Low end needle - 3 turns from flush
mid leave alone - flush

Yeah its been a year, I've even forgot how to tune the engine. lol Thanks alot

Ok, I did that, Now my carb is stuck. The linkage wont move? Whats up with that?

The end of the slider part there is a screw set. Start by setting the screw so the end of the slider is flat screw is at same vertical point. The go 3 turns in.

That make more sense?
