My rant for the day, OMG the ArrmaForum has gone downhill recently, you tell someone actual facts and they go getting all defensive and poopy about it.. it used to be such a good place, I go on there less and less recently due to all the morons
Such a shame…

I still visit daily but it seems a lot less active than it used to be. Quality of posts isn't what it used to be.

so i walk out my front door 5 minutes early. thinking cool, i can beat some traffic. NOPE!!! got stuck being a paranoid women in a mid size SUV making a left out of my neighborhood. got stuck at the first light. got stuck at the second light. got stuck behind a truck hauling what looked like pallets of aluminum billet going literally 30 in a 45. in the left lane next to it, trying to pass it is a large box truck doing 31. so yeah... then make a right hit the first light. hit the second light. get stuck blocked out of left turn lane by an idiot in a Cybertruck who was blocking both the left turn lane and the left lane. sit at light. make the left, get stuck behind a pickup truck full of idk wtf but its doing like 33 in a 45 and keeps veering off towards the bike lane. get stuck at the next light. truck full of makes a right. now stuck behind another women in a mid size SUV. obviously lost or stupid idk which. decides to slow down to a crawl every side street then starts to make a right turn from the middle of the right lane, then signals! damn near come to a dead stop she was turning so slow. didn't even try to pull it over towards the curb to get out of the way. get stuck at next light. make right turn. got to work about 5 minutes later than usual. took almost 45 minutes to go 9.5 miles.

Sounds like my journey home from work but mine is only 6 miles and took me 45 minutes..

Local carpet track is now starting to run onroad, and now is requiring everyone in offroad to run either 1) slicks 2) bald carpet pins, and 3) tire sauce, sxt 3.0 only. Smh

not that i would have gone to a carpet track in the first place.

exactly. I love carpet because I started the hobby and racing on it, using pins. but now it just makes my race day more stressed/complex and packing up for a track a nightmare. and also so many different reasons. like why would they change the whole entire tire rule set in the middle of the season? carpet used to be a place to race for me, just to have a relaxed race day bc with the pins i could literally set the car down on the track and it'll hook up, no tire management, ect. its giving clay track vibes now. where i have to race-marshal-break-during break sauce tires-repeat x3 times.

the issue here is the lack of maintenance they don't want to do to the track after running offroad, and onroad racers are so focused they have to have the perfect conditions. no fuzz in the race line, no tears in the carpet, ect.

Also, its like, I have slicks already. It's just they're contaminated with dirt

It seems like there is a tremendous amount of money, effort and time spent on protecting 'racing carpet'.
What I don't understand is, why are they calling it 'racing carpet' if it sucks to race on, fuzzes up and causes problems, tears when ppl crash on it and is very expensive?




I think its more reasonable to expect that the track invest in a good vacuum cleaner and a well qualified turn mashall dodger to run it than to expect EVERY RACER at the track to drop another $$$ in tires and wheels at the hobby shop this week.

I've learned to stay out of Traxxas and Arrma conversations. It's like talking politics with those guys. One small slip, suggesting one brand is better than the other, will start a keyboard tantrum.
