One of my local shops is closing, after 10 years
wait until you're my age. iv lost 3 hobby shops and 6 race tracks. probably more hobby shops, but those 3 are ones i actually went to all the time.

Lets see. In my lifetime (not counting this one I posted about) I lost 3 tracks. 2 of those tracks had shops. One of those tracks he got rid of his track location and just moved the shop part to his other building with his PC repair shop, I really wouldn't call it an actual RC full time shop as he only does it on the side mainly and he is only open during the week but he still gets decent/good product in almost every week. Track/Shop 1: 20 minutes away. Track 2/Shop: 17 minutes away (toll). Track 3: 30ish minutes away (toll. Only was open for 9 months) This shop thats closing next month: 25 minutes away. Practically have to travel about an hour each way for a shop/track.

The leading issue here. For RC and shops and tracks is the rise of rent. And it's been like that ideally since the start of covid but it's been around for years.

Which cause product prices to rise and mostly track fee prices to rise. People don't wanna race since it's too expensive to race consistently/daily.

if were counting shops in tracks, iv lost an additional 5 shops.

at one point 10-15 years ago i had 3 indoor off road tracks within 30 minutes of me (that's taking traffic into consideration). all gone.
problem here is rent(mostly because of taxes) and insurance costs. we have warehouses for rent everywhere right now, most are more than big enough to have a large off road track and shop. problem is cost. iv heard stories of owners wanting close to 20k a month, plus insurance, plus utilities. you can't make enough to even break even.

The track/shop above that he moved the shop part to his other building he said his rent was 6500 and he wasn't getting the sales. And he's still paying into that debt today (3 years later)
The track that only lasted 9 months he got a deal bc the space was in a old Safeway and it was owned by the county. And like 2 or 3k a month but later the building transitioned to private owners so his rent I guess went up with that also due to fire code laws I believe has a play.

MSM on YouTube just got into a little warehouse called Area RC. Still not alot of space and he has a tiny mini Z track and small mini Z type oval and crawler course. He's in Texas I wonder what his rent would and is be.

Two things I seriously have a problem with...

#1 - Let Ozzy Rest In Peace for crying out loud. It's so F'ing sad that the media is digging up more personal stuff about him than when he was still with us.

#2 - The Kelse/Swift saga begins for the season OMFG. Good thing I decided to tell the Chiefs to piss off.

The news/media especially news feeds online is absolutely ridiculous. Even more so with the stories that begin with "here's what we know".

#1 - ignore it, it'll go away.
#2 - OMG who the hell cares!?!?!?!

#3 - i have a frickin fly after me. I'm more concerned about that. it's annoying AF.

Its amazing how much stuff they can dig up about pretty much anyone these days. Epstein remains a total mystery though. 🤣

It's hard to ignore when it's plastered all over my home page.

Of course I get online a few minutes ago and I see this.....

Kathy Griffin gets third face lift, "here's what we know".
I hope they slipped with the knife.
Why am I thinking of Family Guy?

Peter Griffin's sister??? 😅 🤣 🫠 🤔
