Rant on marshalling at the track.

Don't be lazy and go out and MARSHALL

Last round I marshalled 3 times, besides my 2 races. In the 2nd round and after my 2 races I just had to sit down as I felt a bit dizzy. And race director kept calling my name and I'm like there 3 other guys next to me that aren't racing until next race and doing nothing. Like do your dang jobs. I help around out here and I try my best. Not my fault people or lazy. Or how about just run on how many Marshalls are already out there.

Or just honestly, hire PAID Marshalls and this issue wouldnt be an issue.
Same problem at the carpet track I was going to last year. The same 5-6 people marshaled every race and when it came time for them to race, either there were no Marshalls or very few. Fee to get into a heated track in the dead of winter was only $15 or something like that and they allowed charging too. No way the cost of entry was paying the electric bill, much less the heat at that place, always irked me people couldn't get up and help out. But, if you force people to participate, they just won't show up... which means less participation overall.

Was a good time though. We all got the opportunity to meet Paul Thacker (X-Games medalist and I believe he's a driver for Losi) who came up and for a competition at our humble little track. Just don't forget to have fun, no point in getting frustrated over something that's supposed to bring you joy. But, I completely understand the frustration.

They just need to provide some incentive, maybe have a sign up sheet and if you marshall you can get a discount or wave your race fees, but you have to marshall x amount of times that day.

Better yet, team up with the LHS or an online retailer. After a pre determined amount of time marshaling, offer a 10% off coupon voucher or a gift card for select items. In return advertise at the track for whatever hobby shop offers the coupons/gift cards.

Would be cost effective for the track and offer some good advertising for the hobby shop.

Even a monthly raffle on some merch, racing gear, equipment, etc and the cost of the tickets is some marshaling would be good incentive.

i know iv ranted about this before, but I'm doing it again cause I'm like wtf. RC ebay sellers need to be kicked in the nuts. complete used stealth gear boxes aren't worth $150+. some of you aholes are throwing them up for $400. used RPM arms are not worth $40, new in package aren't worth $65. been watching it for so long i keep seeing these parts not sell, then get relisted for the same damn price. how much crack are you idiots on? yall need rehab or Jesus or somethin'. just because something is old doesn't mean its super valuable, get a 401k, start a roth IRA, stop trying to retire off stuff i need/want that you've had in your garage for 30+ years, damn. :finger:

Of course its always on jack stands

I'm a part of many Facebook groups for some various RC's I own... The amount of just wrong and piss poor information people spew on there is annoying. Then people just parrot it like its gospel. I've been unfollowing the pages as posts come up on my feed. But, I swear Facebook is just auto joining half of these because I have no memory of even joining them. I've probably left 10+ groups in the last 3 months alone AND THERES STILL MORE. I don't get it. I'm tired of my phone blowing up every day. I'm about read to delete my account and start over.

I'm just glad forums are still alive. If Facebook was the only place I could share my RC's on, I would just become a social media hermit. 😂

If you're having issues like me with every freakin' package you order that is shipped USPS, you can go here to file a complaint.

These folks in charge of keeping things running need to have their butts removed from the position.

From what I've read, the USPS typically only hires and promotes employees, internally. So, even upper management positions are typically those that has worked their way up. The chair person could have been at one time a mail sorter, with zero business/management training.

They were all sworn in by Biden. Some have worked for the USPS, yes. But not all of them.

No, I've heard of this nearly 2 decades ago. Critics blame the poor management of the USPS on not hiring "professionals" in upper managerial positions. The USPS poor managent issue is decades in the making!

Oh, well, I never had a single problem back in the day with USPS. Every once in awhile, maybe, but NEVER to the level of waiting weeks or months for a package. Add more people folks. If they can't figure that out, they need their titles removed. Because...

You wanna know the real reason all this crap is happening? Amazon, ebay, aliexpress, Shopify, Temu. Boom... Covid.

Everyone is staying in and ordering delivery. Buying everything shipped from every port around the country.

The long, ongoing issue I'm referring to is not so much the actual delivery, but rather the poor budgeting and logistic planning done by people not properly trained to do them for such a massive entity.
It looks like those decades of poor managent performances has now finally reached and affecting the actual delivery operations.

Working in 54 degrees, I'd be in shorts and a t-shirt with nothing to complain about. One job I had was 120°F inside most days, and another was 10°F inside in the dead of winter. And I loved both of those jobs. Try detassling corn just one time. Pull your skirt up and get to work 😛
You had to walk 6 miles to work, in 3 feet of snow, uphill both ways. :D

No, but I do remember driving my hopped up 90 Mustang to work in 8" of slushy, thick, like ice cream snow one day. About 2 hours of getting stuck, freezing my ass off two or three times digging it out, only to have to ditch it at a gas station for the day and get a ride in to work. I got to spend a day huddled up with co-workers in a little room with a smuggled in space heater. It was actually colder in that building than outside for part of the day in the winter. They used to build tanks in it back during WWII.

The ice was VERY dangerous because no one invented salt or sand yet! In the rain! And it was HOT!!! and HUMID too!!! Sweated ALL day in that snow!
It was HELL in Alaska, Texas!
Kids will NEVER know! 🤣
