I took parts from 2 Arrma EXB’s and made a couple “mash-up’s”. Kraton and Mojo 6s.
My initial thought was the Mojo armed K6 would end up as a 1/8 SCT, which I was going to use a Hobao SC8 body on. The 4s Mojo didn’t exist yet.
I never made it that far, I ended up clearancing the Kraton body to accept Mojo wheels and tires. Think TC Asuga, my creation was almost dimensionally exact same size. It really was a blast on my backyard track.
The Mojo became a Kraton XL/Fireteam/Big Rock type of thing. Which was cool, but I never really was satisfied with it. Too big for track and I don’t really do open spaces.
Just this past weekend I put everything back to the way they were originally, kinda.
The hardest part of a 1/8 SCT these days is tires, no one makes anything track worthy IMO. I have the PL Mirage TT’s and they’re okay, but not that good on dusty clay. Fortress either. Truggy tires don’t really look right.. I do love me some SCT action though! I missed the Mojave, glad I put it back together. I still have “truck” hubs/stubs on the Mojo, and “buggy” hubs/stubs on the Kraton. I think I’ll leave them this way. The Mojave definitely benefits from the extra width that the truck hubs give it.

Or just pay Wicked or Doom to delete this thread so we won't be tempted... 🤪
For real, I am really tempted. I was thinking about this kind of build years ago when I started my DB48 thing!

I got too many projects going on at the moment, and not enough funds. Weather is whacky. Track is too wet most days... I'm in a slump. It certainly would be a good moment for me to make a SCT48 happen as I don't even have my ET48 2.09 🤔 together yet. I'm trying to resist crawler temptation so that I may use that money to enjoy someone else's mini truggy.
Man I hear you about the weather, it’s downright soggy in NY! RC’s is my only affordable interest these days, and I’m tired of cleaning mud! LOL.
With regards to a Tekno SCT48 my only real option is to convert my ET48, which is not a true ET48 but rather an MT410 converted. I’d love to have a SCT48 but not willing to give up the ET for it. The ones shown here have me jonesing though!🥹🤔😜

The Mirage tires are expensive, to hear that they are just "okay" is a downer.

IMO, which is just that. I run hardpack clay that has a fair amount of debris/loose dirt on top. They roll extremely fast, and are indeed a quality tire. I was just hoping for more grip from them. I’d say they’re a pretty hard compound compared with other Prolines I’ve used in the past. I think I paid around $100 for the set a couple years ago. I still use them since it’s a hard size to source. Plus I do own them already, might as well use them.

This one is using Traxxas Max Slash tires. I'm sure some rubbing will be going on...
