Just wanted to start this thread for any questions, tip, tricks, or general discussion on the truggy.

Pinion Gear Fitment

How small of a pinion gear can a person use?
Well, in the front of the ET48 2.0 manual its states that a 15T~25T pinion gear is needed.

In the assembly part of the manual, it suggests a 14T pinion gear to be used in certain cases.

Will a 14T pinion gear fit? Is it the smallest pinion gear that will fit?

According to my setup sheet for my EB48 2.0, I'm running a 12T pinion. The motor mounts and spur gears, on the EB48 2.0 & ET48 2.0, are the same. I'm just trying to figure out my options as I track down the right powerplant for this ride.

This is the motor guide for the et48 2.2. I just ordered a 2000kv, planning on starting with a 15p.

Yeah, as far as tires/motor go, I'm not quite sure on the configuration I'll go with yet... monster-ish truggy with heavier wheels, or normal truggy. There is also an idea tossed around my head of going with a larger spur gear. In any case, that gearing chart is about the same as what's in the 2.0's manual.

Thanks for the picture of the paper manual! The online revision 3 of the ET48 2.2 manual is definitely different. I wasn't sure a 13T pinion gear would fit, but it will indeed fit.

My EB48 is running a 14T pinion gear with its 42mm can onboard at the moment. My initial 4068 size motor allowed me to us a 12T pinion and I never updated my setup sheet notes

Anyway, a 13T pinion is the absolute lowest tooth count a person can go with using 42xx size motor on the ET48 2.0

Mayako Mother May I

Finally taking care of the anti-sway bar collars. Tired of messing with the stock plastic... things. They are about useless. The set screws hold for about a second and then its a mess. I don't even run anti-sway bars on my buggy.

I chose to go a cheaper route with Mayako "collets" as they call 'em. For the rear of the truggy, the stock collars it will be for now. This is a basher RC for Pete's sake, and I really don't have any fast corners to be concerned with. I foresee the rears to be taken off very soon.

Hobbywing EZRun Max8 G2S

I knew the Hobbywing EZRun Max8 G2S was going to be a tight fit, but sheesh... I couldn't do it the way others shoehorned the thing onboard. Hobbywing deciding to make the Max8 a sensored ESC was great... its just that the sensor cable placement poses a problem in confined places. I could have gone with a wide side guard option... nah.

Two layers of double sided tape, zip ties, mini cable organizers... I'm calling it good.

Love when those "forgot you ordered it" packages arrive! 😍
To make it even better, I apparently ordered two sets of the bumper/skid plate. I'll have to see how wonky the bumper looks on the buggy when I get it done.

Servo

I forgot to mention the servo being used. Having survived some brutal SCT action in the past year, prompted me into buying a few more AGFrc A73BHLW servos. Finding them on sale was pretty much the reasoning for me going this route. I probably wouldn't recommend doing what I'm doing if you are planning on racing. AGFrc tip toes around their 1/10th and 1/8th scale servo recommendations.

I'm runnin' the truggy's servo saver @ 2 turns from fully tight. We'll see how long this thing lasts.

Rear Arm "Mud Guards"

Yeah, no. I don't run in mud too often. This year... I couldn't bring myself to do it. The guards serve mainly as pebble protectors for the rear shocks.

I'm really surprised the shock boots have not torn yet. My buggy's shock boots only lasted MAYBE two runs before getting shot full of holes. The Tekno rear arm Lexan mud guards were bought for templets for me to make carbon fiber guards. I wasn't going to push my luck anymore, so I installed the Lexan things for now until I get some carbon fiber plates.

After one run...

I was waiting for new release(s) from Tekno, but yeah, I don't know what's up. amain hobbies apparently are single-handedly bringing back the 2024 discontinued 2.0 truggy. "In Stock Online" it says....:hehe:

I'm sure it's just a glitch/employee screw up. Made me laugh and had to share. Sorry. :)
