Team Associated RC10 B4 - BK Inspired Vintage Build

Hey guys! This is my first build thread. I was super in love with the lately released RC10 BK Worlds edition kit. But since I can’t get my hands on one, because I live in Germany, I decided to build something else inspired by the BK RC10.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a B4 Stealth Team Kit in pretty good condition. So I bought a Reedy 13.5 motor, a QuicRun 120A ESC and an SRT servo as well as a Protech II Body.

Here are the first pictures - I’ll keep you posted!

I painted the body today! First time trying a masking pen. That worked ok, it’s A LOT of rubbing to do after putting on the paint though. The edges could have turned out nicer. For the first try… I’m happy with the result! I made custom windows masks that go a bit lower and I didn’t do the black outline around the running drops. Instead there are more drops from blue to black and I also went for a nice blue hue, a brighter one. I already love it more than the original BK!

I’m having some custom stickers made with the old logos but all black and white. These should arrive in a couple of days.

How do you like it so far? How do you like my setup/wiring?

To do:
- custom wing mount
- velcro to connect chassis/body
- decals
- dirt riding!!!

In the long run:
- add better shocks?!
- make some custom shock towers
- make a full carbon chassis

Thanks for you replies! I spent some time today working on a rear support/wingstay. First I made an adapter from a piece of Grade 2 Titanium which fits nicely, then I tried some stuff for the actual wing mount. This needs some more thinking and planning though. I want to have an adjustable wing mount, with which I can set height as well as angle.

Now I can take off and height-adjust the wing! I just have to get my hands on some set screws…

I went for a first test ride on loose dirt and sand yesterday - damn this car is a beast and it handles amazingly well!!! Super stoked. Can’t wait for my custom sticker set. The progress so far:

I made them myself in Illustrator and had them custom printed, because I couldn’t find any of the old Reedy Modifieds and the ones I wanted! The super cool thing is, I ordered 2 sheets but they sent me like 6 or 8 sheets, so I’ll have enough stickers for that car forever!!! Someone there must have loved RC models! If you want, I’ll share the file. They’re vector graphics, so you can print them in any size.
