Alpine, you can waterproof the receiver using dielectric grease. Just open the case, coat the board and fill the inside of the case with the grease, then simply put it back together. This is what I plan on doing for the receiver on my tuber.

hang on NCNitro, what is "dielectric" grease, does it void warranties, is it any good, how much is it and finally, where can i get it ??

Sorry, i'm not trying to hijack the thread, but for reasons of possible interest by others, i just asking.

It has the hookup for 4 wheel steering, just havent decided if imma use it.

If i use the traxxas tq3, then i will use the grease and stuff, but if i use the spektrum reciever, imma balloon it twice, and seal it up.

You can get the dielectric grease at any electric supply house, and possibly radio shack. I'm never without it. I just used it today while replacing a brake bulb on the car.

Yea, thats true, ima pass on it for now, can always add it later. What about the big ass grill guard on the front? Leave it off, or put it on??? can't decide.

Small/final update for today....

Got the suspension done, shocks, and leafsprings. Also finished rear bed mount, so the bed can flip up and down to get to the electronics.

It's really looking good now

I'ma seein' finger prints on the frame rails. Please refer back to this page in your manual. It's the most important part of the instructions:

I was considering crew cabbing it, but it is my first rig, and i know i could do the body stretch, but i dont have any way of stretching the chassis.

lol I would put a brushless crawling system in there by Novak,it would give you so much more torque for climbing!

I don't see any but I have seen few on your Savage.

Put the wheels together and checked ride height. Looks pretty good:
The tires are 3.6 inches. which is a 1:10 of 36in tire. I have 35's on my 1:1 so imma stick with these.
