I have a 3.3 T Maxx and I ran it all afternoon with out a problem. Afterwards I took it to a friends house and it wouldnt start. The easy start starter would just spin a few times and then cut out, and the engine wouldnt do a thing. I thought it might be the batteries in the easy start controller so I charged it completely but I just tried again and still no luck. Also changed the glow plug. What could be the problem?

one way bearing might be stuffed. does it sound like the motor turns over a couple times and then the ez start gears are just spinning?

IMO i think the ez start is evil on OWB's

Motor may try to turn over once. But the starter quits within a second of me pushing the start button. After a few tries the starter wont even respond to the easy start controller.

How old is the truck? The ez start motor may be shot. Have you checked all the wires going to the starter motor, the little tabs are always breaking off.

id say its the OWB, replace it and the starter shaft and u wont have any problems. mine did that after a couple months. just turned the motor over and then it quit and the ez start motor would spin of its tits and no turn the motor.

if you would read his answer to your first question carefully , you would know that his problem is NOT the OWB or his shaft

Motor is less than 4 months old

you can try heating the engine up with a hair dryer to help loosen it up ...makes starting easier ........or maybe its flooded ..take the plug out and make it spin a few times ..or flip it upside down and give the engine a few turns ....the ezstart wont turn the engine if its flooded

you have to be careful not to over work the ezstart motor ..i burnt a brush in mine once ...if you start seeing smoke coming out of it , STOP ..lol

Where is the owb located

It's in between the starter and the backplate, once you remove the starter the OWB will either be stuck in the starter or sitting in the shaft.

When you say the motor turn over, are you talking about the engine or the starter motor? Does it sound like the engine is locking up or does the electric motor just stop? Do both of the lights on the starter wand light up? When you try it next time, pre-heat the engine as stated already and if it stops loosen the glow plug and see if that allows the engine to turn over again.

The starter just locks up after a few spins. Both lights on controller are working.

yeh, it be flooded lol, kinda assumed the question without reading it properly...

If it is flooded, does that mean I was running to rich?

How many tanks are through the engine and what is the outside temp when you're trying to run it? If it's cold outside it'll be a little harder to start, that's where the pre heating helps a lot.

ok. i found out that is was flooded. caused by the glow plug. the glow plug is not heating up. is that a bad connection in the wires?

If its an easy start take it out mine just did that get a hot shot two

could be a bad wire or a bad plug ...its always good to have a separate ignitor ....i personally never had any problems with the blue wire ...but i do like using a separate ignitor to start it when its cold ... i put the plug wire back on once the engine is started and warmed up
