Hey everyone i need a little help please. I have a nitro rustler that when I turn on the electronics they wont power on and the little light on the receiver doesn't come on. I've already changed the batteries in both the car and the controller and nothing. When I turn the switch on on the car and try to turn the wheels you can hear the servo has some power because it makes that noise when you try turning the wheels while under power but I have no throttle or anything. Any ideas? Do I need to buy a new battery pack and switch? It comes complete for $5. Ide rather start there then a new receiver as its $50. I'm thinking maybe the switch is dirty/rusty inside and its not making full contact but there is really no way to open it up.

It sounds to me like you need to start with the basics to eliminate the problem.

Rebind the Rx to the Tx. Disconnect the servos and plug one in and test each channel. If that works, unplug that servo and try the other one. If that works, plug both servos in and test again. If that fails, I would say your Rx is bad because it's struggling to deliver the amps needs for both. Just a guess.

If neither of the servos work, do you have a good one to test?

It could be a partial break in the power wires from the battery or bad switch too, like you asked. If you have a lolt meter, test them out.

if you can hear the steering servo trying, id think the receiver pack was dead.
if you're still using the AA style receiver pack. make sure they have a good connection. check the power at the plug not the individual cells.

Well I'm going to have to buy a new battery harness/switch anyway because I ended up breaking the wires off the switch so I'm dead in the water till I can go get a new one. But it all worked the day before. I cleaned the car off and now it wont turn on. I use a little spray bottle to spray it down then scrub a little and blow off with air compressor but I'm always careful about spraying right on the electronics so idk. But I've done that same thing many of many times with no issue. I do know the switch has been giving me problems though. When I would go to turn it on I would have to wiggle it a little for it to turn on so thats why I'm thinking its that before anything else. But I'm probably just going to get a new receiver anyway just so I have it 🤷🏻‍♂️
