I recently bought a T maxx nitro and having a blast with it, but due to all the maintenance, I would like to have an electric also, for the times I don't have time to do it. I am looking for something that is waterproof. I have checked out the Summit a little and it seems to be about what I'm looking for. Just wondered what others you guys would suggest I consider. I guess the addiction has started.....Thanks in advance

Id suggest either a 2wd or the 4wd slash. Very durable rigs.

E-MAXX they have waterproof servos and the RX box is sealed with a rubber gasket and the esc is waterproof as well. The E-MAXX brushless edition is good to but the esc is not waterproof or at least it wasn't when it first came out.

None of the electronics are "waterproof" they are only water resistant. Yo can run on wet grass or pavement, but you don't want to submerge them.

Emaxx for sure! I have submerged mine many times with no issues. No I didn't drive it through the pool incase your wondering. The only way I know of to go brushless and stay waterproof is with the twin velinion setup. (will also be doing that soon.)

I went by the Hobby shop today and ended up getting the Emaxx. I got the batteries charged up and was on my first run with it, hit a small stump, broke the top/front suspension arm. I haven't really had a chance to check it out for other damages yet, hope that all that broke! Are the arms fairly easy to replace? May be a good time to up grade. Thanks again for the suggestions and input.

The arms are fairly easy to replace on most rigs. RPM Arms are a great and not really expensive upgrade for both of your Maxxes.

Up date, broke the top arm also and bent both shocks.Where is a good place for parts?

emaxx is best.i recomend aluminum bulkheads and rpm a arms and if you want some cash on this thing a good set of cvds

I got the brushless, last one they had.I also picked up a Venom Pro charger and two Venom lipo 5000 batteries. I haven't tried to charge the lipos yet, looks a little dangerous, any advice on charging these things up for the first time would be appricated.

How fast should it run with the lipos?

The hobby shop is 35 miles away, any good ones on line?

Sorry for so many questions...ihanks again for the help, Lead.

I've pasti-dipped my RX8, an MMP, and a Hobbywing SC10 ESC. All of them work fine. Only thing I havent done is my MMM because I run it with a 2200 on 6S and a pretty low gear ratio which causes it to run pretty warm already. The only time you would run into an overheating issue is if your using to small of an ESC which will cause it to run hot or if you are putting a huge strain on your ESC with a low gearing ratio. If you get more ESC than you need you shouldnt have that problem.....does void your warranty though so that is something to think about. Most ESCs dont have all that much of a warranty anyway.

I wouldnt recommend doing it with a SCT/4pole combo from Castle either that ESC was so hot running on 2S I had to mount a small fan to the top of it. I was afraid it was gonna burn up on its own. IDK thats just my .02 to each his own.
