I've been eyeballing picking up a vrc carbon kit at next years event if i dont grab one sooner, vanquish is releasing a new truck called the mullet, and i dig it,
straight axle in the front, portal in the rear, lol i love it

It's price is your favorite number. I say go for it.

yeah i cracked up about that, its always an intentional thing those numbers

420.69

I have seen this “mullet” idea before. This isn’t a gimmick and vanquish isn’t the first to do it.
yeah i started lookin ginto it today, it seems legit, the logic is sound, i might try it on something i have lying around lol

They're the first manufacturer to bring one to market but people have been building mullets since portals were a thing.

I guess I don't drive my rock crawlers enough to understand the real-world benefits. On my straight axle rigs, I can't recall a time where the rear axle hung me up before the front axle. It would make more sense to me if it were the other way around: portal front, straight rear to maximize the front end's clearance. But 🤷‍♂️, that's what the driver mod is for!

That would definitely make more sense. But then we'd have to call it the Mustache 😜

I thought the same thing, I would think the front portal rear solid would make more sense. But someone out there might be able to explain the benefit. 🤷‍♂️

All the tubers are saying the same thing (as they do): more steering from the straight axle...more underdrive from the portals. Common sense/marketing to help Vanquish sell leftover stock as a new SKU.

I'm not hating on it though! It's definitely something fun and different. I love the packaging and the suitcase/solo cup jack stand downloadable files on the product page are hilarious.

Good lookin truck, just feels sales gimmicky to me. I always think Vanquish is a little over hyped. Good crawlers for sure, but I don't feel like there is enough difference for all the hype that goes with them.

I have to agree. I still want one though. Mostly for the axles and transmission
