Doubt you could go wrong with any of them. Love the old RC10's, so for me I would really like to have one of their newer 4wd buggies in 1/8 scale.

Is there a track near you that you plan on racing at? The RC10 and SC10 line isn't meant for anything but racing really. The SC10 could bash a bit. But I wouldn't buy an RC10 unless I planned to race it.

I would visit your local track and talk to the local fast guys, see if they can give you a copy of their setup sheet so you know what they are running and what upgrades they have installed. Pick a popular class that has more sportsman level drivers. If you narrow down your selection to 2-3 classes then I can chime in and help you decide which would make more sense for you. If you can provide a link to your track (name/location) I can help identify some of your options to consider.

Depends on surface and class like @bill_delong said. I got into racing with 4wd blinky buggy with my B74.1. Great car.

I race the 13.5 stock class. Planning on switching to mod class in the future depending on what the local tracks do.
I mostly run on indoor sealed dirt or "clay" and indoor carpet.

Here is Associated's current line up

10th scale offroad:
- 2WD Buggy - B7/D
- 4WD Buggy - B74.2/D/CE
- 2WD Truck - T6.4
- 2WD Short Course - SC6.4
- 4WD Short Course - They don't really have a race grade kit, but I seen lots race the Pro4 SC10 for just fun local club racing and they do just fine

8th scale offroad:
- Buggy - RC8B4.1E
- Truggy - RC8T4E

Drag:
- DR10 / DR10M

Me coming from 10th scale offroad, the most popular class I seen is 2WD buggy, depending on the track and what the locals race.

My build thread badge goes directly to my B74.1 2.0 build where I log my races and setups. ;)

I "lightly" bashed my B74 around in my backyard and alley a few times. The low ride height of the kits really don't help at all. For general bashing and if you like to race someday, any of the RTR RC10s or SC10s should be good.
