so I'm bored last night, digging thru the parts bin looking for an axle shaft I'm 40% positive i own somewhere... i come across my brass weights for the ascent... it hits me huh... i forgot to add those weights lets do that tonight!!
cool, i remove back wheels take off the portals, swap out the rear axle portion, everythings going smooth... then it takes a left turn,,
i stripped one screw out. bad style. and its inside so i can't even grab it with anything. super effed...
its a litttle 2/14 screw, not much there for the left handed driver to bite into.. i think i may have to replace the whole rear axle on this bastardo!!
gonna try a few other things tonight after work.. lots of stuffs been failing over the past month lol, this too shall pass..... it just might not drive anymore sadly

Try a torx bit. Find one that fits in there tight.

If that doesn't work, find a dill bit just a tad smaller than the screw head and drill it until you get the head free. Then remove the part and remainder of the screw with vise grips.

Just put it back together, hide the weights and forget about them... again... 🤪

Good luck with it!
Majin vs axles...
Axles: 10
Majin: 0

🤣

I've had a few axle housings that kicked my butt. Especially the 24th scale ones.

Were you using an impact on that thing!?! Id try the drill bit method
that was the result from trying to drill it out, my left handed bits are too thick to fit inside the screw housing, thinking ium going to order a new axle and just chop the screw off from the other side and start over

I was only pulling your leg. That would be the most straight forward option

Your drill bit really only needs to be the size of the thread. Not as big as the screw's head. So your drill bit should be about half that size. Send it to me. I'll put my screw extraction skills to the test and see if I still got it.

I almost offered the same. I'm sure I could get it out. I've yet to let a stuck screw beat me but that looks messed up.

Yeah, it appears the drill bit slipped out of position I think. Is that what you're seeing?

uh oh this is starting to sound like a learnable issue,
i was more bemoaning my lameness at the begining, but now i feel like theres an air of expectaion.
new plan
were gonna get this thing out
the screw itself is 2x14 button head
i have one left handed bit small enough to maybe bite in but the shell of the rear portal housing itself is in the way preventing the use, that also prevents needle nose pliers

drilled the cap ouut, pulled the portal off and then unscrewed the screw, ordered a set of screws, should be trail ready in a week

thanks you guys, ida just gave up if not for you all. badassmofos al of ya
