Just as the title says.

I am getting nothing but constant back and forth on obviously damaged shock bodies from my mt48 2.0 kit. The kit is fully assembled minus the shocks.

It's been over 2 weeks trying to get help from Tekno. I'm at the point that I'm about to tell them to shove it up their a**, this isn't worth the trouble.

Was that done before or after hard anodizing? Are the scratches shiny aluminum or grey? Hard to see on my phone, but it looks to have happened afterward.

I would assume the scratches are after all manufacturing was done. I pulled those out of the bag just like that.

Honestly, where the damage is doesn't look like it's going to effect the functionality of the shocks. Personally, I would full send it as is. But at the same time, I understand that you want parts that are pristine with no flaws.

Agreed ☝️

The o-rings seal before that damage, so it really shouldn't pose a problem. Was the bag they were in damaged in any way?

It could have been other parts in the box slammed into the shock bag, especially if the box had been dropped. The bags are pretty heavy duty though, so look for bag damage to see what happened. If the bag is ok, then they were put in the bag that way.

But I get it. Tekno should send you new ones, with a return label so you can send those back so they can look at them and see what happened.

I had one of the shock collars free spin on one of my shocks, and they kind of gave me a hard time about replacing it. Just a simple plastic part. They were saying it wouldn't hurt anything, but I could compress the shock quickly and see the the collar moving with just spring tension. So the pre-load was never going to stay put.

That’s exactly what they are doing to me. Giving me a hard time about replacing the shock bodies.

You and ferrebee88 might be right, but I’m not taking any chances. That’s not a part I want to have any kind of maybe with.

I appreciate the kind words and encouragement. I have other trucks to toss around while I wait for replacement parts.

If it's a manufacturing flaw or you got the kit direct from Tekno then it's between you and Tekno.
If it's not a manufacturing flaw and you didn't get it directly from Tekno then it's not Tekno's problem. It's between you, the retailer, and the shipping company. That sucks but it's reality.

So, is Tekno going to replace them, or not?
It should be no questions about it. Their QA personnel let them slip by.
@RustyUs

Heard back from Tekno, they are going to send out a set of shock bodies.

The amount of effort required on my behalf was not worth it. The next time I assemble a kit, not necessarily from Tekno, and I have an issue like this, I am just buying new shock bodies.

I'm glad to hear they are taking care of the situation.
