Steering Servo/ESC

Hello Helpful RC People,

I recently purchased an upgraded servo for my ARRMA Kraton 6s BLX because the stock was trash. With the new servo installed, the ESC is resetting anytime I punch it full throttle. Unplug the new servo and no issues. I'm assuming the servo is drawing too much power. See below for some of the specs. Is there anything I can do other than buying a new servo with less volts (assuming that's the issue)? Any help is appreciated.

229oz-in, 16.49kg-cm at 6v, 263oz-in, 18.94kg-cm at 7.2v

Hosyond Servo (new servo): Link to servo
maximum torque up to 35kg/cm @7.4V

The blue servo is a popular upgrade for that model & should be just fine. Did you try swapping the plug around? Is it in backwards? It's not overkill for that receiver or ESC & should work flawless. Unless it's a bad servo from the factory.

Sounds like the servo is plugged in to the Rx backwards

I thought the same thing as I saw this same servo recommended a few times on other posts. I did make sure the plug wasn’t backwards and even flipped it around just to make sure. It only works in One Direction. I suppose I could ask for replacement of the upgraded servo, or just go with a different brand. But either way thank you!

Did the esc wires happen to get turned around?

Honestly dude, sometimes Amazon sells returned items as new that are listed as new that are not & didn't work for someone else.

On the receiver somewhere there should be an “S - +” or “+ - S” so signify the direction the wire should face

S will be your white signal wire
- will be black
+ will be red

If all the wires are black then the signal wire should have a white stripe on it

I run this in my Notorious for 2 years & it's a beast. Power HD 40kg servo

Its running at 7.4v so it's only 35kg but it's plenty stout. And 0.12 sec speed, it turns the huge 6s Backflips with ease.

Yep. Went through THREEEEEE of these lamps before finally getting one that was not previously sent back due to people destroying the switch pot.

No way, I have a very similar if not the exact same lamp in my house guess I got lucky with the first one

Was the only lamp I found on the ‘Zon that I actually dug…

I was just glad they didn’t want me to box them back up each time, and send them back-as I had “modified” it by scuffing/prepping all (6) white wire rings that go inside the shades, and shooting them satin black. Night and day difference imo..

Thank you for all of the reply’s and suggestions. I don’t know what’s worse… plugging the servo in backwards (not what I did this time) or screwing in the receiver box directly over the Servo wire causing great electronic confusion (what this guy did ) but all is good now.

I gotcha! Our house is decorated in "we have an 80 lbs pitbull" style.
If I can throw it on the showroom floor and it doesn't shatter, I'll take 3!

Decorating for them is also a great way to "1/8 scale-proof" the house too!
I just gotta figure out the "nitro" ventilation in here and I'll be set for the "3 floor nitro monster truck indoor winter-national challange"!!!
