I was wondering if having the wheels of your car off the ground is nescessary for starting. So far I have started the car by putting it on my radio box but it is starting to fall apart so I was wondering if this is something I really need to do

It's not necessary to have the wheels of the ground to start any car. Just make sure that your receiver and radio is on before trying to start your car, or you might have a run away.

One thing....make sure your throttle trim is set right. If not, and the carb is open, it may want to take off on you as soon as the engine starts.
