hey guys, I think my motor is completly broken in now, running strong I have leaned it out a bit and its running pretty strong, there is just over a 1/2 gallon through it now, anyways the only problem Iam really having is starting the dam thing, it has a new clean glow plug (#3 so far), I prime it by covering the exhaust until I see fuel hit the carb and then give it 1-2 more pulls and then attach my ignnighter and nothing, I can pull it 15-20 times and it doesn't even gurgle, now if i take the air filter off, put some fuel in the carb and pull it will usually start with 2 or 3 pulls and it gugrles right away on the first pull, it is a pain in the butt to get my airfilter on and off just to start it due to its position and how I have it attached to the truck (mainly becuase it has fallen off twice now during operation, it will no longer happen!!) anyways is there anything else i can do to get it start without physically dumping fuel into the carb?

I would say prime it a little further, you should be able to hear it almost like change tones when it is for sure got the fuel into the motor, probably even get a little harder to pull. Then stick the glow igniter on it. Don't forget the fuel not only has to hit the carb but it has got to get up in the motor to fire.

I would have to agree with sirmaxx. Make sure not to flood. If possible while pullstarting it try and give it some gas with the controller. That usually works with me. Good luck!

I always raise my throttle trim on the Tx just a bit so that it's starting above normal idle and when it fires off, immediately lower it.
