hi i am new to nitro cars. i just got my first one a few weeks ago, and love it. but can't seem to find any good sites on adjusting engines. when i first start car i need to loosen glow plug and pull trigger all the way to start it is that normal.

A lot of the engines I have needed to loosen the glow plug before I start.
Mostly before break-in though.

Yeah, that is perfectly normal on new mills, especially on mills with high compression. Once the mill gets broken in you should not have to loosen the plug anymore. Good reading that Digger posted, also you can do a search within the forum. There is some really good stuff here. Welcome to RCNT!

Can you help us by specifying the car and engine ? There are members that have direct experience with some type RC's. But the genral rule of thumb is the same when it comes to breaking in an engine.They need to be run rich and refrain from giving it a lot of gas during this break in period. Let us know.

if you having trouble starting cold...and/or its cold weather outside...use a HAIR DRYER on the enginw for a good min...then should start right up. I have to do it all the time. My neighbor keeps his under heat lamps when he plays on the weekends.

ty digger that site was very good answer my questions and was easy to understand.
jon2 it is the cheapest car i could find a rtr nitro fury 1 it has a 1.8 engine. woundnt recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to spend lot of hours putting it back together, all the parts on it have fallen off it (lol). but thats why i got it if i dont totally toast it in a month i can get nice truck and know what i am doing.

oh yea .18 lol i did 5 tanks of fuel break in like to store said then 1/2 speed for 2 tanks since then i have ran thru 2 quarts of fuel. i am useing 20% fuel. it doesn't seem to be getting to hot i dont have heat gun yet but i have done spit check a few times. i still have the plug that came with the car.
If you are having screws and what not falling out, make sure you are using blue loctite on all your metal-to-metal connections. That'll keep those screws in there nice and tight.
