Hey, here's a thought. Rather than YOU buy something for your FRIENDS to drive and potentially destroy, have THEM buy their OWN truck!
I own 7 rigs (truggy, buggy, 3 MT's, on-road, 1/18th) and not a single one of them is for when my friends come over! In fact, they couldn't drive one at the same time as me anyway because they are all on Spektrum. While I think it's admirable that you want to have a second on hand to have some fun with along with a friend, I think it's a waste of your money. You end up having to maintain a rig that your buddies get the beat the hell out of, which will end up making you mad at them for destroying it.
Hey, if you're looking for a bashing buddy, go down to the local LHS and tell them you're looking for someone to bash with. They'll probably know of someone or, like I do, I just go run around in the yard for a bit. Turns out, my neighbor a few doors down (didn't know him at the time) had just gotten a Rustler and we ended up getting together about every weekend. Too bad he lost all his rigs in a bitter divorce, but it turned out he was cheating on his SMOKIN' HOT WIFE anyway, so he deserved it!
My point to all this is, reconsider buying a rig for someone else and just encourage someone to buy one for themselves. Put YOUR money into YOUR rigs!
