Spektrum iXSR Discontinued

Well it looks like the iXSR is now discontinued!

I don't know why they discontinued it, I hope it's not because of tariffs but i hope they come out with another version of it soon.

Idk it's horizon you can see anything possible with them. It can be back tomorrow lol.

I know it seems odd, It's why i'm starting to speculate that either a newer model is on the Horizon from Spektrum or it has something to do with supply and demand. It also could be tariffs because of our butthead US president.

That's what I was thinking! I did reach out to HH and the representative confirmed it, he did however say they will continue to support it!

I sure hope they'll come out with it again or a newer updated version. Cause i still want one and i missed my chance this go around.

Well I guess we will have to wait and see what caused this, just seems strange to me.

I hope so too, I saw yesterday the prices on a lot of the Arrma's went up by 10 - 50 bucks as well as some of the Losi's. So that's what gives me the vibe of tariffs having an influence on their decision to discontinue the product since it's an expensive.

Yeah we sure do live in some interesting times and it sometimes makes me miss the old days (2007 - 2018).

From what I have heard, they were not popular at all. At $700-$800, they were up in the range of the Sanwa M17 and the Futaba 10PX. Spektrum doesn't have a big enough name to play with those two companies. Futaba and Sanwa don't really sell a ton of those units, so there isn't a huge market for high dollar transmitters in that price range. If the IXSR came out at $500, then it would stand a chance. Like I said, this is what I have heard in other forums. If you look back, they were on closeout before the tariffs hit.

I remember with Spektrum's air transmitter they came out with SE, + and +SE models of the IX14 and IX20 air radios so maybe there will be an iXSR-SE, iXSR+ or even an iXSR+SE so who knows we'll just have to wait and see. I'm still very interested in getting one and i can care less about the other options on the market.

I purchased a new Spektrum for my kid when we started racing. I only went with Spektrum because the receivers are a 4th of the price of a Sanwa and Futaba. We have multiple cars.

It likely had to do with the noble NB4++!XT PRO ×5, or whatever version they are on now. Even diehard Futaba and Sanwa guys are going to Flysky. If you price a radio as high as Spektrum did with this, you better make it really special to play with the big dogs, because you get up over $400 and you will see a lot of racers love their Noble too much to try Spektrum. Ain't nobody going to pay those stupid prices for a Spektrum when they get such a badass radio in the Noble for much less.

I think so too, But i'm really hoping that they come out with a newer version or something since no way am i buying another Futaba or even a Sanwa the only radios i'm interested in are the iXSR or the Noble NB4+ but that's just me.

I think they just made a bad marketing choice. The economy hasn't been great for the average consumer since covid. When people are tightening their belts, is not the best time to release the super duper mega deluxe high end radio that hasn't been proven.

That's true, Although it's not a bad radio at heart some people i talked who actually own these radios say there pretty good. Imo these are awesome radios even if they're expensive. Also imo it's unique that it's an android radio and being an Android Samsung phone user for over 10 years it's a neat concept and there no other way i would've wanted it. Trying not to talk anyone down it's just my opinion although if they released it at $550 like that sale they it might have lasted longer. I'm still Immensely interested in this radio and platform and now that i've invested so much into Spektrum i feel i can't go back or move to anything else.

RadioMaster should link up with those receivers. Might be a different route to take if you're thinking about switching but feel stuck.
