It's inside the left tail lamp. lol

Seriously, I have the Alpine Power Pack 50 X 4 in the dash of my truck and have never had a thermal issue even in the South Texas heat.

The alternator was not the issue amp was bad. Working on getting that taken care of thru PayPal. I got a good deal on a sound stream x3.60 that does 3100 x 1 at 1 ohm so its more power and was cheaper. Hopefully when it gets here I won't have any more issues and can enjoy all the money I've spent on this stuff...lol

Well the refurb sound stream got here and i finally have a working system. The hcca subs are pretty impressive. They definately hit the lows well and have great sound quality as well. I'm taking it easy on them to break themin right now though

Think you get enough air flow in the cubby? Or does the amp have forced air fans in it?

Just curious, what are the dimensions on that? Class D runs cooler anyway from what I've read. At least when compared to a similar ab amp. Also usually smaller due to the lack of heat dissipation needed.

That amp has fans built in and I've beat on it a little bit and it only gets warm. The jl I got from surefire tho gets blazing hot. I'm gonna have to put a big fan on it.

I can't find the dimensions on it but a quick guess based on the dimensions of my box is 20lx14h...its a big amp bigger than the Orion hcca I was going to use

I remember the amps from 20 years ago... 3+ feet long, 6 inches tall over a foot across. After running hard, you could use it to cook lunch with. lol

Those were the days. Have you seen the new digital amps? I picked up a JL Audio XD 600/1 that is good for around 750rms@2ohms.

Its tiny and after a good half hour of slamming it, it's slightly warm.

Its great but sometimes i feel cheated from the experience. :D

US Amps lol. Those were stupid long and got scorching hot at 1/4 ohm. And the $75,000 one phoenix gold made, if I remember right it was 48"...75Wx6. Could be wrong about length but it was crazy.

Ya I remember when I was into it back in the day looking at the really expensive stuff going wow wish I could afford that kind of stuff. Not like I had a vehicle I could put any more stuff in anyway lol

I still think it's crazy when I see a a shabby car that's falling apart that goes booming and thumping down the road with a stereo that cost 3-4X the amount the car did.
