i have just had to replace my whole chassis which meant pulling all the components of old one and put onto new one...... now the problem and i face and question i have to ask is this.......... what should the shapcing be between the diff gear and the clutch bell???? should they pushed in nice n snug and tight or with some spacing?
any help would be muchly appreciated people...........

i think I've seen this asked before but could find it....... so if it has I'm sorry.....

When you want to correctly mesh the spur gear and clutch bell, grab a slice of notebook paper and put between the clutch bell and spur gear, then mash the two together. Rotate the gears to feed the paper through. The paper should be nice and crinkled but not torn. With this done, and done correctly it gives the perfect mesh for the clutch bell and spur gear.

Hope this helps.

THANX HEAPS thunder_tiger....... ill give it a go n let ya know how it goes...... thanx man

Remember once you feed the paper thru, you should spin the gears if they seem tight like they are binding try again, but double up on the paper this time. My Revo seems to like the doubled up paper more. Actually I went thru a lot of issues when I first bought my Revo (used) so I am now to the point where I set mesh just by feel.

Ok first off My post hasn't been edited so I have no clue where you got Tissues from. The sentence says issues hence problems. I had stripped 5 spurs in 2 weeks due to many problems. I have solved all problems and haven't replaced a spur in a very long time.

where do these people come from?:alarm::stickup::constipat

can u not take a joke ? :hehe:

What problems caused the issues ? The reason i highlighted that particular line, is because I'm about to collect 2 used revo's myself.

The second bit i wrote just to make you laugh, but obviously did not work. :(

Well then I apologize, thought you miss read and were trying to make a fool out of me. I had broken engine mount, bad opti-drive, got a rock wedge in between spur gear and tranny... etc. Thats just the spur gear issues, I had engine air leaks. Blown shock seals.

It's cool I tend to fire back when fired at LOL. Sometimes its hair trigger.

Guess he should have paid attention to your username... ;)

I never cared for the paper setting technique. Was more hassle than it's worth. Basically, you should be able to hold the CB with your finger and be able to wiggle the spur back and forth a hair. It should spin freely without any binding through the entire rotation of the spur. You don't want to be able to wiggle your spur much. Just enough to have it be free moving. If you have the mesh too tight, it will wear out the gears and bearings much more quickly, so a bit of play is necessary.

Correct on both accounts that's how I do it anymore, but like I said when I first started I just doubled up the paper cause one was still way to tight.
