So, here is my current project buggy: an SCX24 Deadbolt I've been tooling around with since November.

Parts & upgrades so far:

- Brass front diff cover
- 050 motor
- aluminum motor mount
- Emax servo
- Injora servo tray
- Coda steering links
- PowerHobby carbon fiber rails
- RC4WD Goodyear MT/R tires
- RC4WD stamped steel wheels, deep dished.
- Injora brass steering knuckles
- Treal overdrive
- Injora high clearance links (rear)
- Bowhouse LCG kit, battery forward
- RC4WD hexes
- HR heat sink
- HR tranny skid
- Furitek Lizard Pro ESC w/Bluetooth dongle
- 3D printed Rock sliders, trimmed & flipped (Thingiverse)
- double barrel shock extensions.

Other tweaks:

- minimized roll cage
- drooped front shocks (no springs), sprung rear for nose down stance.
- homemade magnetic body mount
- much trimming/filing to the Bowhouse kit because of the carbon fiber rails and 050 motor.
- Broccoli rubber band rear limiting strap.
- blue rubber band front limiting straps.
- Bobtailed & custom caged the rear.
- four linked front & extended wheelbase

Now 336g with a 59/41 split.

What's next:
- a new ball bearing for the rear diff (I accidentally destroyed the last one this afternoon trying remove it from a brass cover).
- I need about another 8g in the front to regain a 60/40 split.
- I've been thinking about grabbing a set of aluminum JLU high clearance links to re-high clearance the front. But... not quite cost effective to purchase an entire set just for two links.
- a new motor, probably a Mofo Nanobeast 2.0 (or whatever iteration he's up to by the time I get around to it).

Any thoughts?

Very nice!

You did a really cool job with shortening the rear panels and adding your own tube design!

Nice parts breakdown, love the back end, some nice mods! And you gave it a cool name. :thumbs-up:
I have my four year old son to thank for the cool name. He got into a bunch of One Piece stickers and decided he really wanted Tony Tony Chopper on his Scx24 Jeep. Then, while going through the rest of the stickers, he handed me the Brook Soul King sticker and said "This one is for you!"

That diy functioning plow is so cool! I may need to make something similar for my 1/24s.

Just some incremental updates since my last post:

- replaced that rear diff bearing.
- removed front tire foams.
- replaced the 3D printed sliders after the old ones broke.
- trimmed the front CF rails for better servo clearance.
- then, I reworked the front rubber band limiter strap setup to be more tunable.
- readded front wheel weights (after filing down the hex to fit the RC4WD hubs and reducing the inner bevel to clear the steering knuckles).
- relocated the ESC to the rear.
- further minimized front fenders to reduce tire rub during maximum flex.

Currently at 352g with a 60/40 split.

Just a small update:

Added:
- Radiolink rc4gs transmitter & rf4gm receiver (after my five year old son "lost" the original transmitter as a puckish prank, but forgot where he hid it...).
- Mofo SMP brushless motor
- Steel Spur 0.5 Mod
- Brass boulder bars
- Injora Gladiator stainless steel high-clearance links to stretch out the rear
- Gladiator metal driveshafts, to accommodate the links.

Deleted:
- 3D printed sliders. Just too brittle.
- awesome Soul King sticker. Kept peeling up.

Mods:
- more body trimming.
- old light bar as front bumper.
- rearranged just about all the internals after the new Mofo motor.

Currently at 389g with a 60/40 split

What's next:
- Mofo spring steel rear axels. My stocks are bent, with some significant wheel wobble.
- possibly spring steel front CVDs to match.
- Beyond that? IDK, I feel like I've gotten it pretty dialed in. I guess I'll just see what breaks next.

Thoughts?

Small update:

Added:
- MofoRC +4mm spring steel CVD and axles. Stocks were seriously bent.
- Mofo hardened steel transmission gears (SPM stripped the plastic ones).
- homemade recovery strap.
- Injora comp pin tires.
- Aluminum servo horn (extra part when replacing my son's servo).

Deleted:
-rear shocks springs (trying out full droop belly dragging).

Nice to see an update on the Soul King! Lookin' good. :)

End-of-year update:

Not much has changed, as it's pretty much dialed-in.

Added:
- Furitek Lizard Ultimate ESC (a failed update bricked the old Lizard Pro).

Mods:
- Cosmetic paint job to make it look like a rusted out beater.

What's next?:

- contemplating a 4WS project.

That is all.

Happy New Year!
