After a bunch of completely custom scx24's.... I want to go back and put a stock chassis deadbolt together. Stock chassis and stock axles..

So far the only thing the deadbolt has is injora offset steel wheels and proline trenchers.

Ill be installing a lgrp 50 reaper motor. Emax servo. Meus double bend links (and steering link). Injora 39mm shocks. Ground down stock center skid.

Just a cheap build. Here's a Pic of how its sitting on the wheels/tires.

More to come. Parts are ordered.

That’s a good lookin’ vehicle homie!

Btw-I seriously thought the title was talking about this dude:

😂😂😂

I appreciate it! I've got 2 red deadbolt's ill be putting together. This 1 very mild/cheap. The other not so much. The other will be flashy and pretty 😂

Best part of putting these together is that I've got so many parts here and there for them i rarely ever actually have to order stuff now 😅

I realized I had parts in the bin that I just ordered again (happens) so I got a servo, temporary steering links and a reaper motor on here. Also swapped to the gladiator/ base camp velcro front body mount- because screw mini body clips.

I want a Deadbolt. Someday I will come across a deal on one and take advantage of it.

Nice build, look forward to seeing the upgrades

I personally dont understand them discontinuing the Deadbolt. It was the best out of the box body for crawling.

Here's my other 1. I feel like youll appreciate it. Its fully built now with an lgrp billet trans and furitek brushless system.

That's awesome. What chassis is that?

Thanks.
That is a Mazz design cheat code v3. Mazz double bend links also. Meus iso axles. Lgrp wheels and tires. Lgrp hd billet trans lgrp limit strap in front. Nsdrc rs100 servo. Thats basically the truck.

Update-

Finally got a chance to play with the links on this.... 1 thing led to another and now its got some custom rear uppers that are mounted outside the frame.. reason is double bends dont play nice with .50 motors at all... he'll even straight uppers hit .50's.. so its definitely on the upper scale of stockish with that move 😂

As these 24's go, they almost always snowball into something more then you meant to do. 😅

This truck is very light. Haven't put it on a scale yet. It'll do well..

Btw.. this is a mix of meus links at this point. I couldn’t help myself and put c10 links on the front instead of deadbolt length. Once again, snowball.

Yes, exactly like that 😅

The shocks will be here in a few days. I'm gonna try them out but very well may keep the stock ones on there. They work okay.
I was just playing with 39mm shocks on my boys c10 and they seemed to limit me a bit in the way that I tend to set the suspension up, so... we'll see.

I'd be interested in what you mean by this.
How do you set up your shocks?

I want my trucks to sit close to low as they can with a high angled shock so I get a ton of travel. I will limit the front with a strap at about 1/3 droop. That way the axle only drops so far when on an incline but side to side the axle has a ton of flex. Hope that makes sense to you.
Kinda like how at full rest I still have like 4mm uptravel. Reason is because even if the diff is hitting and bottomed out, the axle can still lift more on 1 side. Adds more flex but lcg..

Bear with me, I'm trying to explain 😅😂

You can see ride height vs flex here.

You can get a ton of flex out of the stock shocks if you angle them low enough. These arent stick but I can get pretty close with stocks like that.

Ok, that makes sense.
I have two builds similar to that.
Except I run 43MM shocks, with no springs. They are double barrel, upside down.
I get the droop effect, so they sit low, but, get tons of flex.
Both of these are running the same set up
They are both on stock chassis (for now) so they are straight up and down.
That will probably change soon and I will angle them more.

You can angle them a good amount still on the stock chassis. Probably dont really need much though with the double barrels.

You can print or get printed pieces like this to give you way more options on the stock chassis also.

If you want some I can send you some 😎
