Yes Sonicwave.Typo error and you got the same typo error. Thanks for the info.I am new in RC boats so no previous experience but now have some more knowledge.I have 3 runs with the boat and did not grease the cable so that could be a contributing factor. Now you mentioned stock collet is junk. How should I upgrade it.Second when I get my flex shaft do I have to have a notch created on shaft where dog drive sits.I have seen that in you tube videos when boaters installing new flex shaft.

Oh no Sonicwake not Sonicwave.Sorry take my words back

Just an update.Horizon Hobby agreed to send me replacement Prop and Flex Shaft under warranty but it is back order so will take time.

I finally got my flex shaft and prop.Last evening I try to replace it but it refuse to advance beyond an inch and a half.I did not know what to do.Than I again carefully examined and realized flex shaft must have broken inside the golden stub leading to collet.I start disassembling, got the golden stub taken out and guess what I was correct.Flex shaft in this new boat broken and end piece with prop got out in the water and remaining piece remain in the Barrell.Anyway I removed the broken shaft, put the parts back, greased new shaft and reassembled.Did fine but will know this evening if I did everything correct. It looks so on face.

Sorry I missed this. Do you have an update?

You should buy a couple of flex shafts. I spun 3 last summer and if you do it proper? You’ll be buying a new stuffing tube as well! If you still new? Run the stock prop. I ran a smaller one and hit 65 but caught my ESC on fire. So I went with a specktrum 120a 8s ESC and everything is cool. I’d invest in a cheap 25kg servo. The stocker couldn’t turn a paper clip and died in a month or running. Make sure you grease the shaft before EVERY run. And to make spinning a shaft a little harder, I spin the end in a little solder. But I went full trigger on accident with my prop unable to turn and it was toast. Have fun. It’s super durable and it’s easy to get 60. It won’t be long before you’re buying the Super! Mine below and the speed I ran on the first day. Setup is key and part of the fun of boating.oh yea. You’ll need a heat gun. And my battery of choice is the SMC line.

My maiden voyage on 6s with a hobbywing 180 esc went well, i bumped timing to 2nd setting, stock prop, tfl stinger, it is getting fun now. I glued in 75 grams of weight on flood chamber side to offset heavier esc. It self rights fine. The stock 120 esc was a disappointment on 6s. It ran hot very quick. I didn't get a chance to run gps on it, but I see that boat running on a steady diet of 6s from now. Ill tune a bit more.

I also wonder about how the cooling loop was through the spektrum esc. Was it one in one out or does it have 4 ports to run 2 seperate in/outs?

2 inlets, 2 outlets on spektrum esc.
I had upgraded to 4mm id hose, put a y in it then ran both inlets to esc, ran 2 outlets out.

Motor had single inlet and outlet.

Cooling ripples on water jacket and esc drilled to 3mm id.

But still ran hot on 6s..
Seaking 180 solved that.
1 inlet, 1 outlet.

It’s amazing, the difference in electronics. One is Chinese and they are proud of it, the prices reflect a solid product.. The other is Chinese, works like fish 💩 and is actually more expensive. What?
Across the board brand-wise with the spektrum stuff, from my experience and others that have spent so much more time in the hobby than me.
Are we in the daily rant thread?
Where am I?
