They should make Skis and studed tires for all monster trucks. so they can run on snow and ice. because u know we get that stuff up here in canada.
I would make my own but don't have the supplies someone should start cause they would make a fortune off it!!

yes but Ice and plastic don't mix. Parts become brittle and break easy. Cool thought though.

Saw em. Looks like you won't have front wheel drive. Maybe if you have aluminum parts rather than plastic.

Those look like they would be an assload of fun though:D

I don't think plastic parts would break that easily, as long as you don't do jumps or anything.

Ask El Destructo how easy it is to break plastic parts after 30 second of warm-up running in a parking lot. You could ask me how easy it is to break metal parts in the cold too.

i take no responsibility for your safety but here is what my friend dave and i used to do many years ago.

get an old set of tires and bake em off the rims. once they are off toss the foams. get a big big box of tacks (the ones that are flat on the back, not the pushpins with the plastic handle thing) push the tacks through the tires from the inside in as tight a pattern as you can without having the heads overlap. once the tires are filled make a belt on the inside out of duct tape to cover the tacks. now get the stiffest foam you can find and CAREFULLY remount the tires. since you have a monster truck you will need to make 4 since your 4wd. i used to do it on a electric 2wd buggy and made galvanized steel ice skates for the front out of sheet metal. we used old bushings as spacers to keep them in the middle of the axle and properly upright. this setup is crazy fun to run on a frozen lake. theres nothing really to hit so plastic breakage wasn't really an issue. however keep in mind, if you have a runaway because you failed to properly waterproof your electronics you can kiss your ride goodbye. you will NOT want to be trying to stop it with those tires spinning uncontrollably. like i said its at your own risk, but it does work pretty well.

Hey you should try track spikes and fasten them in w/ some nuts to the tires that be cool just a thought, dads a track coach.

i saw the skis on inside rc on the outdoor channle but you have to lock the diff to make it positive tracken and you have to make it 2 wheel drive well i put my 2 cents in i bord you a nofe now curtis

this works good for me ...

Plastic in colder temps does become extremely brittle. I can't remember who said that, but the lower temperatures really affect it. I've played lacrosse most of my life and the heads on lacrosse sticks are plastic. Every time I would hit someone with one in a cold weather game they easily cracked. Whereas in the summer time, I never had a problem with them. I would love to see a video of one of these trucks taking some jumps in the snow with those skis on! Post it if anyone has it.
