I decided to go with a dual shock setup on my kraton/beetle. I upgraded to a 8s setup with a 1250kv blx and 165a esc. There's two huge 4s batteries in there now too and the extra weight is an issue.
I think this will help somewhat.

Should have just changed the shock oil weight. And also to a stiffer spring. Probably would have done the job. With out adding the extra shock.. considering it's a road runner amd not a basher.... why the different dampener in the rear?
Looks cool but dont you need some springs on the extra set of rear shocks?
The spring probably doesn't fit. With the shocks so close to each other on the rear. The springs would get tied up with each other

Nope. Those are dampers from the UDR, no spring. The rear didn't need weight support, just better damping under power. The rear wheels chattered something aweful.

I already tried both spring and oil changes since I'm not a complete idiot.
The extra rear shock is a damper only from a UDR.
The front needed some extra weight support so I just doubled up the shocks. You're aware that many RCs have dual shocks from the factory??? Did Traxxas also screw up the UDR with a dual shock system. The HPI bullet????

You probably don't know what you are looking at. Once again, that extra rear shock is springless...as in no spring designed in.
I appreciate your input tho. Someday I'll learn how to mechanic properly.
That looks cool and that's about it
Sure, dude. Whatever you say.
Don't you have some box stock RC somewhere that needs polishing or something equally as mundane?

Ok, so youve added an extra set of dampers on the back but when those are compressed you have 1 set of springs providing the force needed to extend both sets of dampers back to normal ride height. I mean if the spring is strong enough it can do the job I guess just seems odd to me to add dampers without springs but if the ride height is good then I suppose thats all that matters.

Not sure why you're all salty with Stoner & Nino. Stoner had a perfectly valid point. You could have accomplished the same thing with stiffer springs and heavier diff oil. Not that you can't add an extra set of dampers and shocks if you want to to accomplish your goal. Seems like your upset cuz no ones particularly feelin' the vibe you're puttin' out.

It's all good, I understand now that the new guy is not allowed to be salty in response to people who get salty with me and I'm out.

Thank you.

Wow....that went sideways real fast! 🤣

Drama over nothing, good lord!!

I mean, I can see being a little salty at Ninos comment, but I'm sure he wasn't trying to be mean spirited. And if so, o well. Everyone has a right to their opinion and how you act/react is your decision/control. Me, I would have laughed it off.

Stoner did nothing wrong. I think it was just read out of context, like in a smart butt kind a way. I did not read it like that though and was thinking the same thing he was.....just in a helpful, curious kind of way. I didn't know that was a springless damper (still a newbie on some things RC), maybe no one did and you could have just helped us understand.

There's no need to get all crazy and leave. I really don't think anyone was trying to be mean. And yes, I have a bunch of older RCs that have dual shocks.

Man.......life's to short to go to level "10" over something silly like this. It's all good people!!!! CHIIIIILLLLL!!!!
:thumbs-up:😁😍😁✌️

The UDR is basically a scale truck. It looks cooler and more accurate with 2 smaller shocks than one big one.

Again, I think this looks really cool, especially the rear end, but dual shock setup is something that was relevant about 10+ years ago, just like dual servos.

No need for hysterical reactions, dude.

Noone was trying to be mean or rude, Just peoples opinions. Not sure if he was just having a bad day or what. A lot of his stuff is really cool. This particular one just isnt my cup of tea. Nothing wrong with it. I'll always support your choice to build whatever you want regardless of what anyone thinks of it :)

No one said you didn't know what your doing. No need to get your panties in a bunch. I could have been a d>ck. And said you didn't add that much weight. And you probably didn't get the rite spring and oil wt. Because there No reason to run dull shocks on a road runner. Because you went to 8s. Wow proude of you. Playing with big boy toys now. Good job
