I picked up this buggy and rebuilt it to find the engine is shot. Who is racing 1/8 scale buggies? what is a good race engine with a pull start to put in it?

Racing or bashing? Just curious as usually most dedicated racing rigs don't run with a pull start.

That's the sportwerks 26 isn't it?

I run an XTM 24.7 in my buggy. Nothing fancy, but it gets it going pretty good for a basher. Huge head helps it keep it's cool when I'm being an idiot and running it balls out on the flats.

Yes it is a sportwerks 26 hard to even keep running it has no pinch left. I am looking in racing at the LHS. Want to compete but not all out pro. I dont have a starter box so i was going to stay pull start.
