Took the plane out again. Made a few moves that looked like I had everything under control...and went nose first into the ground. Put a crack in the foam on 1 side. Pushed it back together, and took off...only to crash land in some brush and trees , near a river. 4 guys and 45 minutes of searching, no one found the plane. Even more catastrophic then my helicopter experience which I eventually sold on ebay and got 75% of my money back. Should I have thrown the transmitter into the woods...so if anyone finds the plane they will have everything??

I may have to accept some things are not for me. Planes, helicopters, the snow boat incident.....

Mostly anything with a propeller...

Unfortunately the learning curve can be pricey for rc planes. I went through several before I could call myself proficient. Went through a lot of 5 min. epoxy, popcicle sticks and wooden shish kabob skewers, but got pretty good at repairing foam planes, without them looking to hideous. 🤣

But you have to find it first....

It happens....to me...today
At least you couldn't find it. LOL. Every day when I walk in my front of my house, I see my kids drone about 60ft up in the tree in its forever home. 🤣

But you have to find it first....
It can be frustrating I had a Spitfire that flew beautifully but I could not land it for squat because of the narrow landing gear. I was so irritated I was just about ready to give it to one of my buddies, then one day it just clicked, and I was glad I stuck with it.

I accidentally deleted the beginning of my last post oops.🤷‍♂️

I have seen a few guys lose their planes, found a few after hours of searching, had to find mine a few times, never close to where I thought it was.

Something goes wrong for me at the other side of the field. The lack of visibility at distance...I do 1 wrong thing ....and immediately react with 7 more equally wrong decisions.
That said if someone wants sponsor this endeavor....I'm sure I can crash/lose planes all day.

The trick is to not panic, let the plane respond to your last radio input before giving it a bunch more input. Overcorrecting is probably the biggest killer of planes. I had a buddy, who would start cranking on the control sticks like they were on an arcade game, instead of using slight gentle movements. It wasn't pretty, but finally broke him of that habit.

Don't give up! The payoff in satisfaction and fun of learning to fly RC is huge.

One thing that can be a great help for learning to fly RC airplanes and helicopters is a computer simulator program. They can also provide some flying fun during the winter or bad weather when you can't get out with a model.

And if you have a friend who is an experienced RC pilot, it's possible to link some models of transmitters together ("buddy box") so the experienced pilot can quickly take over control of the model when needed. This is how a lot of new guys learn at RC flying clubs -- back in the day when I was learning, anyway.

Endeavor to persevere! :)
