I'm considering buying an entry level plane to try my hand at flying.

I have a few easy to fly camera drones that pretty much fly for you, and a few racing drones that require much more skill to operate and I do pretty well.

I've also spent way too many hours in Microsofts flight simulators and usually make it back to the hangar in one piece.

My questions to those of you experienced in flight, how cheap of a plane should I get? What are the odds I make it back to the ground in one piece? I dont want to buy a pricey plane and destroy it first flight. Whats good to start with?

A very slow flying, high-wing model, hopefully made of EPP foam. Some even offer a gyro and one-button bail-out if you get in trouble. No need to spend a ton of money.

My favorite is something like an MPX FunCub. The E-Flite Timber looks like the most current and available of that genre...

This is what I have. I have zero simulator experience, and even less rc plane experience when I bought this. I have limited time using it and have never landed with anything that was skillful and deliberate....and it's still in 1 piece. In part because it's not super fast, and because it's light so the impact is softer....all the impacts. Good luck!

not a recommendation really, but cheap and durable are good things
