...and buy an engine 4 the hyper during its teardown this winter.

perhaps buy a RG purely 4 the carb, run it til its dead, then take the carb and stick it hyper engines from then on. am turned off by the fact that u need a special header w/the RG. i've accepted the fact that whateva route i go, i wanna replace this stock ofna pipe.

findin some1 w/a OS carb 2 put on this hyper and see what i can do.

buyin this RB S5 that every1 keeps talkin about (provided its not a 2-3 gallon b4 rebuild motor, and that rebuilds arent insane priced).

idk...tired of checkin 4 leax, good 2day crap 2mrw. low end fat, low end lean. grrr. most every1 else goes and plops their car out on the track and runs around maybe makes 1 adj the whole day 4 the weather and goes.

almost feel like an idiot rather than a serious gearhead who is just learnin these little engines. and i dont wanna spend much money. this is supposed 2 b fun, not taxing on my wallet. i dont need 2 worry bout winnin the AMain. now i have a truck that i havent even fired up 1st time 2 think about.

speakin of that, the gs motor in the SUT, its a .25. the .21 that GS puts in the storm? any good 4 a stock engine over ofna's.

appreciate the time. i know i talk about this a good bit, but i wanna figure it out.

So you want to get a new engine for your buggy, go with the O.S. v-spec, heard its pretty good

the .25 in the sut is the same engine as the XTM 24.7, great engine! Lots of low end power, it just doesn't rev like a buggy race egnine.

yup, one of the guys at the track runs and SUT with the stock .25 in it. pretty fast truck. that engine seems to do just fine. the .21 they put in the storm is pretty good too. psunitro has one and I've helped him with the tune on it a few times. it holds tune well and is easy to work with. it also has reasonable power for a buggy, on a short track the expensive mills have nothing on it.

pissant: when are you going to learn that not everyone is made of daddy's money? he just got done saying that he doesn't want to have to spend more money on an engine and is talking about biting the bullet for a 110-150 engine. so you recommend a $300 race mill? why?

oh yeah, as for the .25/24.7 as VB was saying, the same guy that has an SUT runs a 24.7 in his mugen. i have a very hard time with that buggy down the straight against my v-spec. kinda frustrating since its about 1/2 the price of my mill. just thought you should know

I've heard great things about this mill:

http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/146024.asp

only 119$!

i own an xtm 24.7 and an xtm .18, both are great tuning engines that have great power for there price (the 24.7 has really great power for the price) and I've read the .21 pro v.2 will hold its own agianst much more expensive mills. some say they last about 4 gallons, and a new P/S is about 45$ from the same place. sounds about right, my 24.7's got to 4 gallons before loss in compression.

oh yeah and corrado the 24.7 i feel has as much low end as any mill on the market, I'm going to have to drag race my Storm (V-spec) agianst my xterminator (24.7) just to see the diffrence now, problem is i gota find a friend that can drive in a straight line!

i dont know what the 24.7 will do up top. but for our roughly 100' straight its hard to lose it. if i keep on the gas to pull away, i end up in the boards at the first turn.

I say stick with the RG. I got a buddy that has one and with the right clutch and tunning he keeps up if not out runs anything on the track, and damn near gets almost 8min during a race.

I had a RB ws7 that lasted 8 gallons. Just keep going and going. Had it pinched and lasted 2 gallons on that. $300 well spent for me

I actually like the Hyper 8 Port more than the GS B01, but if your having some problems with it the GS engine isn't bad and would be a good choice.

what about a l-collari, theres a few guys running there cheap one over here, its seems to be very competetive with the race mills and reliable, dont know how much you guys would be paying for them but were paying about 360NZD, far as I can tell as far as a low to mid priced motor goes there bloody good, or theres the os SH which is what our broke members run, there alright but certainly not as quick as the collari and i think there about the same sort of price,

corrado how much are you guys paying for your vzb vspecs in the states, were paying about 500NZD, there actually one of our cheaper race spec motors?????????

I've seen them range in price from 250usd to 300usd depending where you buy and whats on sale. by comparison a novarossi p5 goes for about 290usd and thier 421B goes for 350usd. the new picco P7-R is 300usd.

you dont need toi run a special header with the RG. I bought one for my son and it came with a adapter that bolts on and works with my inline RB or Jp pipe and manifold.

The Stock GS B01 that comes stock in the Storm is a decent motor, but I'm planning on upgrading to an OS RG over the winter. The B01 will be my backup motor.

just disheartenin. cuz when this thing is close (havent got it truely right yet) its great 4 a basic engine, but when its wrong, its a pain.

i'd like somethin that wont go only 2-3 gallons and has crazy p/s replacement costs.
i'd like somethin consistant on tune, consistancy over performance
i'd like somethin that doesn't break the bank

pretty simple...but yet so difficult. heck w/this motor if its as simple as a carb change 2 help and i hope hypers make it more than 2-3gallons...it'd b great. but what gives...

-Ult

well after its sealed up, put an OS carb on it, and you should have a reliable, decent lasting motor. you already own it so the cost of the carb will be it. try that before you buy another engine.

will this work w/the hyper motor. i've only heard about this 20e. is the L newer or somethin? whats the damage. any1 else wanna chime in on this.

-Ult

I'm almost positive the 20e comes in the .21rg and the 20l is for the vzb....i checked todayon my buddies RG and the 20l is longer on the bottom....so i don't think it would work.....srry bout that
