So I was running my T-Maxx today and noticed I lost acceleration. Ends up I had lost 1 1/2 slipper pads. 1/2 because one was cracked in half, however I have not played with the slipper clutch since I got the truck (2 weeks ago).

1. Is this most likely due to it being to loose?

2. Are their any upgrade options for slipper clutches or just replace them with factory pads....?

i think that there is no slipper up grade. i modded mine to be solid. DO NOT DO THAT. allso do not have power going to the wheels at a bump, that ripped open my trans, or maybe thats what did your slipper in. just put it back stock. tighten the new one as tight as you can get it, then back it off 1/4 turn. then test and a just as needed.

put something through the whole on the end to hold it tight. do it up so that u can turn it with ur hand while something is holding that shaft in the one spot. too tight it might as well not be there. too loose youll loose power and pads

Never seen those before they may do the trick. Or you can try the slipper pads from the E-MAXX brushless edition. They are made of aluminum.

Thanks cwal! I ended up getting two sets of these just for sh!ts and giggles. I think my biggest problem was the slipper clutch beeing to loose though, but these may just grip a little better whilst keeping the friction heat to a minimum (when they do slip) ya know?

Everyone will usually tell you something different. My preferences- I keep my slipper locked on my 2.5 Maxx and my MGT 4.6 and have never had a problem with either.

I was thinking about doing that, but my main concern is if I get into bashing and jumping, thats where I am afraid of ruining my drive shafts and transmission...

just use the factory replacements. they work absolutely fine.... mine does wheelies none stop and haven't destroyed anything apart from a drive shaft cuz i had a locker in it.... but if your can't get the factory ones to stay in then your going to have a hell of a lot more problems with alloy etc as they will just eat the slipper disc and cause you more problems....

ps i check my gear box and diffs etc after 1-2L of nitro if not between if i have nothing else to do...
