well i just sent in my 3.3 piston and sleeve to rayaraceing figured $20 can't hurt well see how it does .should be back around next monday or tuesday.
do i break in the same as i did when i bought it (per traxxas)or is there a better way. :whhooo: i can't wait it is going on either my .15 max , allready had it on there once but it is hard to keep the front wheels on the ground.

or on my revo 2.5
or should i try it on my kyosho inferno buggy.the old one .i would think it would do good on it cause it is lighter then the revo or max

Yup, I would. Turn it by hand a couple times just to see how tight it is. It'll probably be super tight, so if it is you should pre-heat it before startup.

I've read a couple of people that have had there sleeves pinched by ray. He supposedly does good work and it does restore some life but I've heard it only lasts for about a gallon maybe 2 if your lucky. IDK first hand....just what I read.

It'll last more than a gallon, but you're losing more and more of the piston's oil groove as it wears.

So would this resize be better or 42.99 for a whole new piston and sleeve?

depends on your $$$ flow if your straped and can't really afford the new then go the way i did if you have the cash i would get the new. I don't have the cash if it works out then i will get my 2 2.5's done

and where did you see the piston and sleeve for $43.00 cheapest i found on ebay was 55-60

Greywolf: so whats wrong with an extra gal or 2 thats better then not runnin ?
besides i don't run that often. It will last a while unless we are running all six at once,And that 's not happening fuel cost to muchand it is to far to go get it for me i have to drive to delaware.

Yes, you need to do a mild break-in. You don't have to worry about heat cycling, but run it a bit rich and get the temps up to 200, just go easy on it for the first 3-4 tanks.

I've had engines last many gallons after repinch from Ray, but haven't had a TRX engine pinched.

.

My LHS price! XD High Speed hobbies in NC!

I had a LRP .28 pinched by Ray after 5-6 gallons. I ran a couple more through it after it was pinched..I traded it off to a guy and he put at least another couple through it after changing out the con rod, wrist pin and front bearing. As far as I know it is still running. So basically it will depend on the quality of the engine that was pinched. Worth $20?...I think so. I mean heck you can buy an Axial .28 and only get two gallons out of it for $125 too...soooo that math is easy to me.

I never said there way anything wrong with it I was just simply stating that I had no first hand knowledge of it and I had read an article that stated that. Apparently there are some people here that have done it and had better than a couple of gallon results. Even if you only get a couple more gallons it would still be worth 20 bucks.

Cause I live in Concord NC

well wish i lived there you will not not find that anuwhere around here in MD

still probabaly get the pinch done cheaper .and it it is good iv'e got about 5 more he can do over time

Yup I agree fully. All good I was hesitant at first too but a buddy talked me into it. He has a Novarossi .21 he had done by Ray THREE TIMES. I have no idea how much has been though that stupid ugly beat up engine but he will not stop running it until it stops dead.
Pinching does not make them new again but it really makes a lot of difference. The thing is they degrade over time so when the pep comes back it is almost like a new engine again. But it is only a temp fix, eventually you are going to have to do a full rebuild.

And unless you have a high $ engine, a full rebuild isn't usually that cost effective. Especially if it's a pull/roto start engine. That adds rebuild cost.

yup ,pullstart and i figure if it works for 20 bucks well that beats the hell outa 60 for piston and sleeveshould be back i hope by tue,or wdnesday,if it is good i wiil send him my others .hell might get them all done over a few months.2 2.5's os max rg , mtx mammouth my mgt and maybe a couple oh my hpi's,of course they need a tear down anyway but one at a time is best with limited space only have my computer desk to work on them or coffe table when the old lady is gone .

still waiting he's comeing back from vacation today and said my piston/sleeve will be here next week . now i need to deceide what to put it in .kyosho inferno dx , revo ,or my .15 converted max
