I used to be in tonight nitro 18 years ago then stopped with the hobby for 15 years maybe more . Well I've dove back in way too hard between buying an x-max a Typhon Grom BLX two slashes I think that's it and 3 months and this one caught my eye was a new motor I'll try to tackle the challenge .

Outside temp 51F, internal temp........290ish. For sure hit 270. What now? On the first tank it wouldn't even go above 80° at idle and barely a throttle here and there so I wrapped it in foil and the second tank was giving it cordless throttle spikes after making sure it wouldn't die anymore and I don't think we had three bills but it wouldn't surprise me 270 for sure though. Just think f*** now

I wouldn't sweat it. There's people out there that can't tune and don't check temps but still get decent life out of those engines. Whats done is done. Just finish the break in process properly and you'll be fine.

Plus side, if it does fail prematurely traxxas does that lifetime replacement plan through LHSs which can be a good money saver

Yeah, all is well aside from spinning one of the motor mounts. That sealed what was to be a few hours of scratching my head on the hideous sound it was making. Metel on metal the spur gear defeated the pinion, ( or whatever the motor side gear is called)a number of other little th rings had to be tweaked and addressed. Quite a finicky princess the Slayer Pro is turning out to be. All my other RC's I beat them hard amd they keep on keeping on.
