Sledge servo

[easy rider]

I’m putting a servicing my sledge. It’s a cheapo but it seems pretty dang solid. Quick and strong. The problem is, it’s backwards. And, for the life of me I can’t find any information on how to reset the transmitter.


I’m meaning when I turn left the car wheels cut right. Vice versa. It’s a factory receiver and transmitter. I’ve searched the web and can’t find how to reset the steering on the factory set up. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, my problem was I couldn’t find the tqi instructions. And had tried the TQ instructions about 19 times. I was getting frustrated. But, the good news is I dropped a cheapo 55kg 9imrod servo in it and dang it man, that thing is wicked.

Super fast and strong. It is so quiet I can’t hear it at all. I hope it lasts as I don’t intend to ever buy another Traxxas servo.

Double edged sword because the TQI is probably the most feature rich RTR radio... but those features are locked behind a $40-50 bluetooth module or a barrage of Blinky lights... which SUCKS. For the price of the Sledge, Traxxas really should include the link module out of the box...

Easier to spend the $50 on a FlySky FS-GT5 and you get a better feeling radio that you don't need to pair your cell phone to.

It will also come with a 8.4v compatible receiver. With the addition of a remote BEC that high voltage servo can be brought to life. When my Sledge was stock I used a base model Castle BEC and stuffed it into the receiver box.

Eh my experience with FlySky is not to push them too high on voltage. You still get what you pay for… my FS-G7P receivers are rated for 9v and the brown out at anything higher than 7.4v. My buddies gt5 receivers are the same way, they start getting really unreliable above 7.4v on your BEC.

I wouldn’t trust a FlySky reciever at 8.4v personally. But, that’s just me and I’m a fanboy. If you need to push that much power, a Spektrum or Futaba is not a bad investment IMO.

I agree, I run everything at 7.4v. I run my receivers at 7.4v for the same reason I run 8s ESCs in all my 6s trucks. If I don't push boundaries I don't have to replace them. That, and it keeps my trucks from catching on fire. I haven't lit a truck up in a while.

Yea I run NB4 Fgr4s receivers and they say they can do 8.4v. Never ran them that high but I run 7.4 on all my trucks minus my Mini B and reflex as those don't have adjustable esc settings. Never had a brownout and they're incredible receivers. Same with lower end FS stuff too for the budget/cheap, although NB4 receivers aren't that much more expensive and it beats paying 60-100 bucks for high end spektrum futaba or sanwa. (Yes I know I do have a 3PV I run 1 official futaba r304 receiver and I run 1 amazon cheapo 4ch receiver which links up with Futaba no problems but the cheap offbrand ones do NOT have telemetry while offical futaba receivers do. Only downside I see.)

The NB4 and NB4+ are the best left-handed radios under $700.00! I like their waterproof receivers too.
