I finally got to my slash ultimate and got out the slipper clutch. Does this look normal?still very new to rc.thanks jason

The gear looks good. To look at the clutch requires taking the nut and spring off and pulling the pad and plates out...... I'm assuming. Don't have the 4x4 version.
 
With no exceptions mine used to seize up in between drives. I had to take it apart and pry the pads off of the slipper plate before every outing. My recommendation is ditch the slipper and go with a Hoss center diff and refill it with 100-500k depending on your preference.

Am I wrong or does that not look like a factory slipper? It looks like a Robinson Racing slipper to me. Surprisingly I've never seen one of those out in the wild.

Yup, Robinson Racing slipper. OP, you will need to take it apart to check the clutch disc to know the true condition of the slipper.
