I have a K2 - When settin up the brakes should they beable to lock all 4 wheels when travellin at a fairly slow speed ?

i set my brakes up so they dont quite lock up, soon as they lock you lose all your brakes, to uncontrolled slide, personel preferrence thing though, most noobs set theres up so they lock,

Ya, if u want to be a newb, set your brakes up really tight lol. jk. If you want to stop faster believe it or not, you set your brakes up to almost full lock, but not so when you push it on the ground they lock up instantly when you hit the brake. You want them to make the tires not completely slide when you go full throttle. They can slide a little bit. On short tracks, i like my brakes really loose so i can get around the tight turns instead of sliding past the turn.

I set mine up so that they just slow the car down alittle not "lock" the wheels. I prefer more braking in the fron also.

Really? i prefer less brake in the front and a little more in the back so the front wheels can get around the turn.

driver preference. some like to step the rear out ala moto GP or rallycross. others like more traditional braking, ie brake then turn.

would also consider the track.. if its loose then the tires will lock p easyer..

I set mine to full lock for 1 sec then fast pulsing cycles and another lock...that's the only radio programming I'm using right now...it rocks for really technical tracks......I brake late alot so I need the initiall STOP........Brake setups are like assholes, yours works for you and mine works for me.......

LOL good anology
ur alowd to run abs in the states huh
we have to abide by the international rules, no driving aids, which mean no abs

I just do the club racing now and I'm not doing good enough for anyone to whine about me having an unfair advantage yet....lol...If I stall out in a heat I just stop the heat...I'm not doin the 100 yard dash anymore to get back on the track for 1 more lap....

I've gotto admit I'm surprised at the lack of rules u guys have, would have thought they would be worse in the states than anywere, but would apear they are some of the more leaniant in the world, scuse the spelling.

I'm sure at the state races they are strict......there are enough races in the area that if you want to race seriously then you go to those tracks.....I just happen to like the layout of mills pond best so I go there....the only time I've ever heard anyone cry about ROAR rules is when some big pro comes and gets spanked by a local.......happened saturday...

lol probably find its cause he was running a pro legal setup and got lunched by someone that wasn't

Actually he was blocking the passing cars and they decided to go over him on the triple and he got sqashed...broke some stuff and cried about it...I was watching it cause it was a funny battle.....pro (don't want to bash a persons career) was going very easy and not pushing it....local guy was getting his lines shut down on every turn...looked intentional to me too....llocal guy didn't get made just tried to make a hard pass.....well mr. bigshot pro limped his car back to the track for the A-main and tried to hack local guy and ended up totally trashing his car in the process.....wah wah wah cry me a river build me a bridge and get over it.....

I told him if you want prissy girly man races stay in the state races...if you come to the ghetto and think everyone is gonna let you walk because of a title you need to get a clue.....

Eric, I can see it now, he has to back to his sponsor, "I need a new car because some locals trashed my car in a race that I did not win...".

Hey Plaid... what kind of radio do you have? I have been trying to set my braking up on my XS3 and I have not been able to get it right. Right now only my back breaks lock which is ok... I can still "dirt track it" around the turns which I am getting used to.. but I would like to set my Bug up that way right off the bat so I don't slide it around the turns as much... I want to be able to get on the gas much quicker. Thanks man.

Tom

I have the futaba 3pm?? it's about 115 bucks no servos.....it has a bunch of features I don't even use yet.....I'll learn all that hitech crap later...let me get mah driving dialed in first....I still drift my buggy more than I break it and drive a turn......but you can really screw up fast doing it that way......if I hit my favorite turn good I gain like crazy...if it's a little off....DONE....there's a bunch of ruts and it's like a drop off too...so if you drift and catch a rut going balls out I usually flip it right over the boards and off the track.......turn marshalls don't like that too much.....I did it once in a heat and got a nasty look......

I had no idea that you could even get a radio that could do all that abs and all of that! Thats sweet next thing you will need is traction control lol and mabe climate control :jk: but that is very cool. All I have ever had is the stock Traxxas Radios uggg I'm still such a newb lmao!

I wasn't aware that you can't use ABS in races...mike was th efirst person I ever heard mention it......all it does is pulse the signal from the radio.....you can set the pulse speed/cycle/and delays....I found one setting that helps me cause I'm a late brake kind of driver....and the ABS keeps me from overshooting my turns....it took a while to get used to not having to pump the brakes myself.....
