Shipping outside of the US.....HELP!

I'm trying to get shipping price to ship a box to Canada through USPS, I must be doing something wrong! Maybe someone could double check this for me and tell me what I did wrong.

The box...

24" long
20" wide
15" Tall

weighs 23 lbs

It's quoting me a price for $135.00.....I can't beleive thats how much it would cost! I have shipped similar size boxes to Canada for 50-60 dollars in the past.

UPS or FedEx might be cheaper.

This is my same problem trying to order from amain!
Customs charges, exchange rate, GST, shipping, receiving charge $9.25-with Canada post only!

.....UPS, FEDEX, DHL I'm not sure of?
For me it's almost the same as getting my parts in hobby whole sale in Edmonton, at least they will ship to me free......but they don't have half the selection of amain!

It takes a week for them to get the parts I want and 1-5 day to get to me from the place in the Edmonton.

I stopped at my local post office for a price check...$85.00 to ship to Canada!

Its expensive. USPS changed a lot of their services. It was gonna cost 435 to ship a revo to Guatemala or some place like that...

I checked UPS and Fedex both over $100 to ship. We don't pay tax on items bought online from out of state so the government will find a way to get their money and it seems like shipping is where they will get it!

Canada post is stupid expensive! I sent a LSP to a guy in calgary from canada and it cost me about $65, and that was 5 years ago. I paid for 3 day shipping, and it took about 10 days. I wasn't impressed!

So to hear that $85 plus doesn't sound all that outrageous!
