I just bought a new 15kg servo to replace a 3kg servo. The problem is it works fine for 35 seconds then it just stops working, if I turn it off for a few seconds then turn it back on it does the same thing and if I swap the connection to check it stil does the same thing

The weird thing is it's brand new and very expensive :\

What is your radio setup?

I'm using 4 AA 2100mah 1.2V NiMH batteries connected to a 2.4 ghz 3 channel reveiver with a built in fail safe connected to a turnigy 958 coreless 15kg servo for steering( one that's stuffing up) and a 9kg e9001 servo for throttle/brake

Well, my guess would be that it's your FS kicking in due to low voltage. 4.8V is not enough to run decent servos for very long. One good brake hold will drop the peak voltage down enough to kick in a FS.

If your running rechargeables, you need to run 5 cells to get sustainable 6V out of them. When not under load, 5 1.2 cells fully charged will show close to 7V if not a bit more. Under load, they will drop down closer to 6V.

Many FS's have a low voltage detection that kicks in when you get to 4.8V or so due to a 6V pack getting down that low means your darn close to the cells dumping on you completely.
