Hi Everybody

I recently purchased a Hobao Hyper 9 and a .21 GO Engine 21R SPEC 3P and am happy enough with it for bashing around. I want to purchase an engine with a bit more speed, ease of set up and reliability. I just found with the GO Engine, the set up is so variable. The low idel is fine, but then its take off is slow as it gets flooded very easily.

I was looking at the OS 21VZ-B V-Spec-T (P), Novarossi Toro Nero 21T and the Go .21 GX-7R. All nice engines for this buggy, do you have any recommendation on these 3 engines or possible an alternative. I am a novice racer and am hoping to get more into it as the summer comes along.

Cheers Shuteye:)

i would HIGHLY recommend the Werks B5! the motor stock is plenty fast and people are getting 10+ with the 2013 pipe on it. and the engine is only $199.99.. it will be just as fast or faster than the engines you have listed.

The Picco P7 or JPX .21 are both great engines, a little more expensive then the others listed but the billet piston sets it apart. I have seen Picco's take abuse that would destroy most of the competitors. Just an option.

The Go does not sound tuned properly. Also it being a 3 port, it would respond very well to a 086 pipe and long header.
The V-specs do not last although they are very quick, nice to tune engines.
I could not agree more with the Werks B5 and 2013....AWESOME! They go 11 minutes easy and are faster than the V-specs. They need no mods out of the box.
I myself am a huge Picco fan too, very under-rated and over looked by most people. Just as fast and good on fuel as the Werks. I've seen many a Picco take tons of abuse no other can.
Another option is the JL .21. I'm waiting on mine to come back from Extreme. It realy did not need modded but I want the edge only he can give it. It will be unreal afterwards. I fully expect it to outrun the Werks when he is done. This engine already gets extremely good fuel mileage, better than the Werks.

Thanks for the comments and the details of the Werks B5, I had a look at the spec there online, it reads like it is pretty compeditive. I did make a choice at the weekend on the GO 21R 7PT - GX-7R-PI2072,prior to reading this review, but I will consider this for my nest engine. I will kep you posted on how this engine performs when it is delivered. Thanks for your help. Shuteye:)
