Love this build thread. I’m doing one right now too. Curious what shocks you used?

I’m building off of an AX24 so I ordered the c10 links and skid plate. Running the furitek starter kit with meus axles and emax servos.

I don't like any of the aftermarket shocks, because nobody seems to understand they aren't trying to hold a concrete block off the ground. The stock SCX24 shocks are the best I've tried.

I mostly agree. if you do lots of mods, and add a lot of weight, the aftermarket shocks aren't as bad as I used to think. The stock shocks are a bit bouncy on straight out of the box on Axial mini crawlers and need a little tweaking.

I wonder if using my stock ax24 shocks will be too long then. I think they’re 51mm. Super bouncy.

I still want the articulation but with no bounce.

Give them a try, you can always change them, or try different springs.

Yeah I’m going to try them out. Maybe run with a spring internally to pull the body down vs lift. I did that on my ax24 and it made a world of difference with steep climbs but I lost a few mm’s of articulation due to the internal spring taking up room.

I’m excited though. I got my son a JLU and I love how much more fun it is to try to run lines on my course. (Ax24 does everything TOO good).

I couldn’t get my mb24 to work out.

Have 4ws I would need different sized rear links to get the rear axle to align properly so I decided to put the ax24 back together and will order up some Scx24 axles the next time they go one sale again.

Wrll there goes that idear. I may look into 4ws and see what I can figure out with this.

I got my mb24 together. I didn’t put the rear tire on. I instead use that space to Velcro down the battery.

I did stock axles. Front wheel steer only and injora big bore shocks with an emax servo.

OEM gearbox with furitek starter kit.

Meus brass wheels and tires 62mm.

Noble nb4 transmitter and FGr4s receiver

I love this build. It does so much better than I could have expected. I’m not sure why people say they run out of room because I have an entire skid that is empty. I guess I could put the battery there but I put it in the rear. Makes charging it easier to get to.

Sorry if I’m hacking your thread but wanted to give you a heads up.

Less than a full battery in I completely stripped the transmission gears. Get metal if you haven’t already.

Oh, you're good. I haven't decided on a powertrain yet. Probably Furitek. Our 6x6 build has the new Furitek Unity motor/esc combo in it, and if it does good, I'll likely use one for this too.
