After having my scx24 as a the rock bouncer injora thing for some time, I decided to refresh it. Getting a battery in that thing was always excruciating.
This started with the intention of using the Datsun 620 cab from a 1/25 scale but it’s just too small and doesn’t fit well. I am still in the process of finding a 3d scanner app to get a good scan so I can possibly print a new body and scale it up.
I printed all of the parts in ABS on a BambuLab A1, and they came out pretty good. A few years back I purchased an “Ugly Mofo” chassis for about $50 and it was crap. I don’t know what material it was printed in but it was just dog 💩.
All of these parts I found online through various sources, I designed nothing so far.

I want it to look like this but can’t find the print file for the hardtop. This might be something I try to work on. It has that halfcab bronco/vanquish origin look.

The electronics being used are:
•Furitek lizard and Bluetooth dingle dongle
•mofo rc aluminum motor mount and transmission case for the “big block” 130 brushed motor
•radiolink radio system
•Reefs 99micro servo with the NSDRC BEC

•For shocks I’m using another mofo rc product, but I think they suck, I will most likely be replacing these with some injora 39mm or the 40mm big bores.
•Wheels are an injora brass 1.0” with injora hyrax s5
•stock axle housing with a +4 extended width
•yeah racing brass knuckles and hexes

There are a lot of wires to zip tie down and beautify but I hope to run this thing today.
For now the ol deadbolt body is going back on. I printed a rear bumper and hinge mount.

I'd be curious to know how the chassis holds up. A guy that is no longer with us had an SCX24 that he named Taco because he folded the stock metal chassis in half when the front wheels got in a bind.

I remember the taco. I have also experienced some parts breakage in the past when bound up.
I did a quick test along the back of the couch and it seems pretty capable, I just need to source some magnets to keep the front of the body attached. I'm not going for a crazy amount of weight on this one, and I will most likely get some aluminum wheels instead of using the brass ones.
There are some really cool bodies/shells out there to be printed, for a price of course. I just decided to use the deadbolt again because its what I have on hand. I have both C10 and deadbolt links, so sky is the limit with adjustability.
The deadbolt is back!

In love with this thread and along to steal ideas
You are more than welcome to! If you have PETG you could probably print everything with that.

My next print search will be some kind of engine or turbos to glue on the hood.

Now it is time to clean up the kitchen table of my project debris. So many extra parts. That flat bed I printed out….. wasted filament.

A chaotic workspace is made by a chaotic mind... 🤣 You should see this place!!! 🙄😁

I found some turbos, and I printed them. It is also ABS, because I don’t have very much of anything else. I glued them on with some gorilla brand e6000. I may or may not paint them. Scaled down from the file to 75% for a better fit. I also scaled a couple up to test fit on 1/10 scale stuff.

The front grille is also a printed item. I have some yellow lights I will add in the headlight buckets.

where do i find a turbo like this? I'm having trouble with using the correct tag apparently because i havent seen anyhting close to this

The BEC is a fat bundle of wiring but necessary for a reefs99. That thing will kill a battery. Right now I can fit a helios 600mah, usually I run some tiny 300-400 mah batteries. The micro99 causes brown outs on those, so I had to add a BEC.
