This will be my first comp style crawler. I'm pretty excited to see what it can do.

I haven't made it very far. I was building the front axles and ran into some machining issues. There is an extra threaded hole where the c-hub screws to the axle (Email sent to amain to rectify). I did build the shocks and they seem super smooth. I like them much better than the Vanquish S8 shocks i built for my Optic. This Reefs 422 will be my first servo from Reefs and I am expecting it to be great based on reviews. As I build this, any advise will be greatly appreciated!

Got 3 of them in 2 trx4s and in the optic. quiet and smooth! Ours aren’t heavy or comp grade rigs, but really pleased with the 422’s
Good to hear! I've been using the MKS X5 HBL550 for everything. Quite an impressive servo. At 7.4v it gives you 499oz of torque and .085s speed

Did you check the shift fork to make sure it was symmetrical? Our Ryft kit didn't show anything in the manual about it being directional, and I missed that one side of the fork had a small counterbore in it where the shift rod screwed in. I assembled that damn transmission and tore it apart 3 times before I caught the error. The last time I tore it completely down, unscrewing the shift rod from the fork helped me find my mistake. Stupid manuals tick me off.

I will double check that. Thank you. This one is held in with a clip on the shaft.

Had a few minutes to spare before work, so I checked it. It's omni-directional and held in with e-clips.

If you could, I need a measurement from you on two parts:

How wide is the skid where it sits up against the rails on the inside. Basically, distance between the two rails on the inside where they meet the skid.

And same for the front and rear bumper. It looks like they are different. Maybe skid around 78mm and the bumpers around 70mm?

I'm curious to see if they have a mirrored parabolic curve.

Looks like it is about 73.8mm all around. Front and rear bumper are the same part number. All the supports measure roughly the same as well.

Just my luck... I go to hook my servo up and realized the connector is busted.. i have no clue how that happened, but there the metal retension strip i side the connector is loose and prevents it from going into my receiver. I emailed Reefs and they said to send it back to them for repair...

I'll think about it, but I may just send it in and get them to fix it. I'm in no rush to finish this build as I am waiting on some backordered parts anyways.
I get it. I only mentioned it cause it’s something I keep around for repairs or custom harnesses and such. Various assortment of wire terminals and connector shells. I also just grabbed one of the first links off Amazon.
