rustler VXL won't work now!

Hi there...I bought a rustler vxl off ebay and the car is perfect condition. I was driving it yesterday and it worked great. I plugged the battery in today and it was working and it just stopped. I thought the battery was dead so I put a fresh one in and it still won't work. The green light on the esc is green when I turn the car on but when I hit the accelerator it starts blinking red. What does this mean?

What about the transmitter batteries? Are they new ones too?

Yes...freshly charged. When I turn the car on and hit the acc. it stutters a little and the light blinks red and the tires won't roll in either direction

What battery are you running? Reset your transmitter. Will it go in reverse?

did you move your throttle trim control? if it gets moved the throttle will not work.

Is it a fast blink or slow blink? I think fast blink red is thermal shutdown. Slow blink is fail safe. That could be backwards. Either way id reset all transmitter trims to center then reset your esc.
Hold button til its red,let go when it blinks 1x pull trigger fwd. 2x reverse. Wen it blinks green your done.

After extensive testing I figured out that the motor is burned out. I got good power coming from the esc but when the motor was tested it didn't make any movement. It's a stock velineon 3500kv. According to the hobby shop traxxas will replace it for FREE. Lets see how this is gonna go. lol

I'm running a 3s 5000mah lipo. I plugged the motor into my friends car and nothing but when we plugged his motor into my car his worked fine.

100% agree with greywolf74. As they said in electric tech. You let out the blue smoke in your motor. " sounds fried". The good thing is now you get to upgrade..

Put a tenshock sc401 4000kv in it with a Hobbywing SC8 ESC on 3S and switch out your spur to a 40T mod1 nitro revo spur and use a 15/16T mod 1 pinion! :whhooo:
Oh yeah and get some Jaco foams for more roll out

I'm having the same problem with my velineon motor. it works until the red light starts flashing and then the motor starts to make noise but want move
