More ground clearance, but also puts your center of gravity higher.

It's a preference thing. Some people love portals and some don't. There are pros and cons. For what you are doing it may not matter either way.

Portals will raise your ride height unless you go with a shorter shock. Then you lose suspension travel, unless you angle your shocks back.

Or you could raise your upper shock mount. But you also have to worry about the axle or servo on the axle running into your chassis.

I'm no exoert, but that is stuff I noticed while playing with a 24th scale portal axle truck.

Out of those two which would suit me better optic or Phoenix, or either the Fordyce? I'm likely getting one of those 3. Just want the one that's gonna suit my running conditions

That Optic kit is hot right now. I'd grab one for sure if I was into 10th scale crawling.

Well thing is don't know that I'm just serious all in crawling. I don't have no places around with lots of rocks. And as far as what I got here at home this area below is what I have for crawling...

There is hella potential in those rocks, twigs, and timbers. Toss some dirt in there and get those rocks tossed in here snd there and you can make that a killer course. Build some bridges and other obstacles out of the wood stuff.

The Ryft kit in stock form would probably be better on a dirt hill with some rocks mixed in. Ours is very unstable as is, but it is completely stock.

So you saying a Ryft wouldn't suit me as well as the optic? And too this is actually a Bank with these rocks. They were there when we moved here I think probably to keep water from washing. So it's not Flat by any means

At this point, you honestly need to watch some YouTube videos to see what other people do with these rigs. They are two different ends of the spektrum. The optic is a trail truck and the ryft is an all out rock bouncing machine that goes faster than it really should

Right and even though it's not a Rock Bouncer I've got all the Speed I need in my DB48 the Thing flat out moves. That's why I'm thinking the Optic or Vs4. I've watched a ton of videos

Then you should go %100 toward an optic or vs410. I think you would end up disappointed in the ryft. Think of it this way... the vs410 will be more similar to your trx4 except the transmission will be able to do dig and underdrive on command, which you most likely don't need. The optic has a longer wheelbase than your trx4 and will probably be more at home going a little faster across the rocks or on trails.

Yes optic is the way I think I'm going and I think I'm just gonna build the Kit and maybe put a 2700-2850kv in it. Or if the RTR are great right out of the box just go that route and save some money. Just thought kit would be fun to build

I don't believe a RTR Optic is an option.

Oh, interesting. But definitely go with the kit.
That's what I'm thinking too. I know I will have a little more in it. But I will get the kit. And work on building it Then next month I will Get the Motor and Wheels. They do have this RTR also

I'm going with optic Kit. I've got my Mojave for sale on couple places. If I don't sell it in few days. I'm gonna take it to my local hobby shop and let them sell it for me. As soon as it sales I'm ordering the optic
