I'm really itching for my first mini, but not sure what platform to start with, or even what size. Its going to be crawling 90% of the time, maybe just a little trail running.

Is a 1/24 the most preferred mini size? Is a 2 soeed transmission the vest way to go in a mini?Whats a good choice for brand if I plan on upgrading it a lot?? Who makes a good kit to build?

I know I want to go with all the standard upgrades...brushless, brass if needed, good crawling wheel/insert/tire combo, links, good quality servos.

I also want to go 4ws, and would prefer a truck (or car) body as long as I can get lot of crazy flex. Scale details are cool, but I'm going to focus on performance first.

Come on crawl masters, help me pick something out so I can get started! 😁

In my opinion, the best out of box 1/18 crawler is the Redcat Ascent Apex18.

As far as 1/24 you have LGRP, Meus rc, Furitek, Axial, FMS, mofo rc, and many more. I haven't found any that come in a true "builders kit", but many people piece together stuff from different manufactures. I built an entire 1/24 rig from Meus rc parts.

Indeed, the Redcat Acsent 18 Apex, hands down THE best mini out of the box. Flex monster, brushless, brass front portal covers, absolute home run from Redcat. I love mine, arguably my most capable min, might have to say even better than one of my $500+ 1/24th LGRP build. Not upgrades needed out of the box, but come on, we all do it 🤣

Also the Meus 1/24th MB24 is a fantastic build, and probably my most used mini crawler.

So many different options out there with the mini's. I am sure you will wind up with more than one, very prolific little guys 🤣

A couple of Apexes before any upgrades.

The sky is the limit here... what is your budget? You can start at $100-$150 or spend upwards of $600-$700+ building one. There A LOT of options in the 1/24 and 1/18 world of crawling!
Thank you! I'm not really tight on the budget, but i dont want to go too crazy right out of the gate. I think to start Ill probably go brushless, add good tires if needed, and some brass up front.
