First crawler for me is the TRX4 1/10 scale, has everything I need to get started and a huge after market support. SCX10 is in second place for RTR, again kit has everything and can get you started. If your going full build then from what I have seen Vanquish kits. What sold me was the West Desert Wheeler and his build on the TRX4 such a capable rig out the box.

I'm sorry. Where's my manners? @MVRCA is the dude who can answer that. Go look at his photos and how his crawlers are.

When I was looking to get a 1/10 crawler, I narrowed it down to a Element Enduro Ecto, Vanquish VDR Stance, or the TRX4. Went with the Ecto. I don't have many rocks, mostly trails or woods. The Ecto or TRX4 is better for that terrain. Rocks & more rocks- VDR Stance. I'm pleased with the Ecto, crawls really good what rocks I can find, great on the trails.

Well I should have Stated in my OP that I have a TRX4. But was thinking of getting another one. I have my own Wooded Track (I don't have Rocks either) my track is mainly for my Mojave and DB48. But I could probably add some things to it For Crawler (But I guess I'm really looking for more of a wooded Trail Truck over a Crawler if there are such a thing?

I have natural fallen trees I use as my rocks in the back of my yard as I am in a wooded area, I just let my TRX4 crawl over them. If you get the TRX4 the speed with 3s will amaze you and the crawling will also amaze you.

Well as I said in post above I do have a TRX4 I was tljust thinking about adding one of Maybe more of a Trail Truck if there are such a thing. Maybe Crawler and Trail Truck would be same thing

Missed that sorry, I see now. I'm not sure on what a trail truck would need to make it something different. I want a trail truck also due to no rocks. I am looking to build a crawler SAR rig.

Axial ryft would be fun in that terrain i bet!

I recently finished building a vanquish phoenix that is a sweet trail rig, and quite capable on the rocks as well.
Or find an old wraith or bomber. Gear it for a bit of speed so its fun in the woods.
I have a axial capra with a brushless setup and 2.2 tires, and while its extremely capable at crawling, i have it geared pretty high and its a hoot on the trails too!

There are so many great platforms to choose from, it would be a tough choice but as @Chubaka "AKA extra curricular activities engineer" :D
mentioned, available parts is a must. Building them up to the best "in our own eyes" is the important part.

Folks thanks for all the responses. I do have an Mojave 4s and a tekno DB48. The thing is those are 1/8 scale and they are Really to big For my Trail. I think I'd be better off selling those and Building me another 1/10th Trail Truck of Some sort Since I already have a TRX4. I also have a 1/10 Hpi bullet MT flux. I'm just finding the bigger vehicles hard to control On this Trail. For one the actual track is only about 4ft wide

If you already have the TRX4, then I recommend the Element RC or SCX10 platform.
What I love to do is, sit down and start ordering parts. I prefer to build all of mine vs. ordering pre-built rigs.

ill chime in
i have a trx4 bronco, love it as a trail truck but it doesn't want to crawl the rocks i have as well as some others i have, BUT it loves the trails and hills,
the element ecto is probably my favorite, mine leans more towards rocks with a lowered cg, it pulls up and over most of the rocks the bronco gets hung up on.
my sons axial basecamp poops on em both often, that thing is a beast lol
the redcat ascent is awesome out of the box, it crawls and climbs and jumps over logs like a champ
ill never buy another redcat crawler personally the ascent is an exception, not a fan of their other trail trucks.
the wraith is my new favorite i think. it does what the crawler wants to do ( mine has a hobbywing axe motor so it responds well to slow crawl) but it also wants to rip up a hill slingin rooster tails!
my biggest stumbling block was realising the difference between trail/crawlers.
crawlers are aimed at driving difficult lines, adjusting things so it will do the impossible, climbing vertical walls, biting that one lip of the rock and pulling up and over, lots of skill involved and slow control.
trail running is more (for me) about getting my truck someplace it doesn't want to go, up and over hills over things and under things.
i kept wanting my trail trucks to do crawler stuff but they couldnt, the weight was off, the tires were dirty or wrong kinds,
once i figured out the difference my trucks settled into their niches nicely.
the bronco will outrun all the others, but the ecto will climb rocks the others wont, but the wraith will jump over the rocks the ecto will climb and jump over the bronco as its chasing it down.
you really need to get a few!!!!! gotta tick all the boxes..
get an element ecto you will be happy for sure

I'm going to throw another vote towards Element. The Ecto is a great do it all truck. The Zuul is pretty much an Ecto with a different body so you can't go wrong with Either.
Here is my Ecto.

Another good element trail truck is the Sendero HD. Not quite as capable as the Ecto/Zuul but still a fun rig.

Honestly your TRX4 is a great rig, but the Ecto or Zuul are very capable. Now if you want a srious crawler then Vanquish is what your after. But that is more of a technical crawler but @MVRCA loves his Vanquish as much as I love my Element crawler/trailtrucks.

What would be the difference between the TRX4 vs Ecto other than the 2 speed on TRX4?

Certain variant elements have independent front suspension. I think certain variant trx4s have lockable diffs. I think trx4 may have more aftermarket but I could be wrong.

Pretty much just the stance of the truck. The fenderless body on the Ecto allows more tire choices. The Zuul is available with standard axles, portal axles, or the IFS (independent Front Suspension) which is pretty cool on a trail truck. If your looking for a little variety it's worth a look.

Any of the main players are going to be very comperable, TRX4, Axial, Element, Vanquish and the new Redcat Ascent Fusion are all great choices. Not sure if there is enough difference between them to make one stand out more than the others other than preference. They can all be tuned to suit your personal taste.
