Rock Crawlers

Looking over this thread and the terrain you are talking about, I'd get the H10 optic and Castle Slate motor. Basically, you're talking about a U4 truck at this point. Driving around in the dirt with a true slow-moving rock crawler would get boring pretty quick.

A Ryft setup as a rock racer would also be an excellent choice. We've done that with great results. For something smaller, maybe an Element Gatekeeper. We also built one as a U4 rig ( TRX-4 killer ) and it did great. Set up properly, and it outperforms the TRX-4 on faster desert tracks.

I think the H10 optic might be the sweet spot here.
But as I've said the sky is the Limit to what I could build with the trail Area. Plus I already have a Tekno U4 vehicle

And as I've said I feel like the 1/8 Scale DB48 and Mojave is just too big with the speed they have for my area. Maybe it's just me and can't drive lol!

Well,

Then I'm not sure I have any advice for you. We've built two desert tracks now modeled after king of the hammers, and while we've tried all kinds of trucks, U4 seems to be the most fun. We also went with a few DB48's, but the Lasernuts made short work of them and they were sold off.

When you say sky is the limit, are you talking about tens of thousands of dollars to invest, or just pushing some dirt around with a front loader.? If you can afford to have 2 to 4 ton rocks moved in place, well then everything changes.
No not financially, I'm talking about Mounds, Rock piles I could build up by hand, Digging Ditches, just stuff like that. Also it doesn't look like it does in the pic now. I haven't ran on it since last year and it's now all covered in leaves. I'd have to take my backpack blower to reveal the Trail again.

Actually the Mojave is my biggest truck. Even though my DB48 is 1/8 it's not as big a vehicle as my Mojave. I would be keeping my DB48 But selling my Mojave to get another Trail Vehicle

If I went that route is the Kit better than the RTR?
Kit is always better. Either they are both the same and you know it's all tight and greased or the kit has hop up parts as well. I've had several and seen several kits that come with extra or upgraded parts.

Kit, kit, kit, and kit. RTR's are the Devil's Lettuce of RC.
Well that's what I was thinking and I meant to say I would love to build another one. I built my DB48 and loved every minute of the build it was fun and that was my very first build

My only thing is the optic is a U4 vehicle like my DB48 only The optic is 1/10th scale. Am I missing something? Or what would be the benefits of it over my DB48 I'm trying to stay away from having similar vehicles I want them all to be different

Looking at your track and your thoughts on the evolution, it's this:

H10 Optic
Castle Slate 2280 with Copperhead ESC
3s battery.
NSDRC servo.

1.9" beadlocks, CI two-stage foams, Voodoo 4.75" KLR's. Best put the cat inside because that H10 is gonna eat anything found on that surface.

Now you got me all fired up to build one.
Yeah and probably looking at a 1000 bucks! Not sure I want to put that much into 1/10

Why you say that, I just don't have the finances to Throw out a pile on another one
Just messing( I am in the same boat, so many out there but which one to get!), but if you want to spend a little to see if you like the 1/10 U4...its a heck of a deal, and I almost pulled the trigger on it yesterday.

Looks like I could build an H10 optic for around 600 bucks, Does that sound about right?

I'm telling you, that SCX6 is calling your name. 😈
Man I want that one Bad, I'm just wondering if it's too Much Truck for My Trail Area. But there's one thing about it if I'm gonna pay that much it would definitely be on the scx6 and not a 1/10 scale like the optic

You can always ride it around town. 🤣

Korean made, as far as I know not bad kits - you need everything as they are just kits. rpphobby does sell them or some of them on their website. Are you looking to build from a kit? The body will come clear and you will get fram and tires/wheels. Motor, servo, esc, transmitter and radio is up to you.
